There was something slightly off with the atmosphere during lunch. Everyone felt it. Everyone, but the two of them. They were both quieter than usual, but they were constantly giggling with each other. It felt weird. Donghyun was sure he isn't the only one feeling like this. Good thing Soojin voiced this out.

"Will the two of you stop rubbing on each other for like, two minutes? People are trying to eat."

"We're not freaking rubbing on each other!" Hayun exclaimed and adjusted her seat away from him.

"At least not in public," Woojin muttered. Donghyun burst out a laugh and Soojin made a face.

Youngmin was smart enough to shift the attention to something else. "Buzzer Beat is in two weeks. Have you asked for permission, Soojin?"

"Of course she hasn't," Hayun answered for her. "Best case scenario is that she'll ask the day before, but then her mom would say it's too late so she wouldn't get to attend."

Soojin looked down and simply put food in her mouth.

"Okay, now I feel bad," Hayun said. "I feel like we're pressuring you to attend because all of us are attending."

"Or maybe I genuinely want to see the show, unlike you who doesn't even know most of the lineup," Soojin said.

"True," Donghyun agreed.

"Why do all of you always gang up on me when it comes to these things?"

"Because you called Crush ugly that one time," Youngmin answered.

Hayun snorted. "I mean, if you compare him to Dean—"

"Let's not do this again."

Hayun just shrugged.

"Just try to ask your mom, Soojin," Donghyun said. "I mean, your grades aren't terrible. You haven't actually rebelled against her. If she knows how much this means to you, then I'm sure she won't mind."

"Give me more time," Soojin said. "It's not like Daehwi will take it back from me... right?"

"Daehwi doesn't care about these things," Woojin reassured her.

"What does he care about?" Hayun asked.

"Everything else," Donghyun answered, and everyone nodded.

"Okay. So now I only have to ask my mom."

"Don't let Woojin's efforts go to waste, Soojin," Youngmin said before shoving another spoon of bibimbap into his mouth and chewing loudly.

"Gross," Woojin commented after seeing that. "And it's all on Daehwi, not me. I only gave her the ticket."

Soojin narrowed her eyes at him. "Weren't you claiming that you were the one who got it for me just last night?"

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"Sure you don't."

"I can't believe you guys had the time to chat last night," Donghyun complained. "I was slaving away and trying to finish coding for that Comp Sci project while you were sending each other stickers."

"You're the only one who still uses stickers, dummy," Soojin told him.

"You say it like it's a sin."

"It is."

With this, Donghyun just kept his mouth shut. The first bell rang not long after, and everyone began collecting their stuff and preparing for the next period.

"Do it today, Soojin," Woojin told her. "Ask your mom today."

"I still have two weeks—"

"Today. Or I'll make Daehwi take the ticket from you."

"Wow," Youngmin commented. "As if Daehwi's gonna follow you. He likes me best."

"Shut up," Woojin said.

Donghyun turned to Soojin. "Don't mind Woojin. Just ask whenever. He's just desperate because he really really wants you to come."

"I don't know where you got that from," Woojin said after putting his bag on. Then he sped away, leaving the rest of them at the table.
