It was awkward.

He was beginning to realize that he didn't think this through, walking Soojin home again and all. It just felt right, maybe, since he does it all the time now. Plus, it would make things weirder between the two of them if he suddenly didn't walk her home today.

Woojin had noticed that Soojin wasn't speaking much after that thing that happened in the library. He was really just joking. He did enjoy seeing her all flustered like that, but if that would make her feel weird around him then he regrets doing it.

But her face, though. Woojin couldn't help but smile at the thought of it. He really should stop this soon.

"Why are you smiling?" He heard her ask from beside him. "You look stupid."

Well, at least she was saying something again.

"Nothing," Woojin said. "Why do you always call me stupid?"

"Because you are," Soojin simply replied.

Woojin wanted to answer her with a witty comeback, but for some reason, it just didn't come to him. Which made the situation return to its previous state. Awkward.

The air was so uncomfortable that they both didn't notice they were on Soojin's block already. And that her mom, Mrs Yoon, was literally just a few meters away from them.

Soojin had noticed. "Oh, shit."

"Do you want me to run away, or...?" Woojin offered.

Soojin shook her head. "That'll just make you look worse in her eyes. Wait, make that both of us."

Woojin didn't really get why Soojin was so scared of her mother when her mom looks like the nicest person ever. She was even smiling as they got nearer. Even so, Woojin just followed Soojin. Of course, she knows her mom better than he does.

"Mom!" Soojin greeted a little too cheerfully. Woojin made a mental note to tease her about it later, if Mrs Yoon even lets her talk to him again. "What are you doing outside?"

"I actually had pizza delivered," Mrs Yoon answered. "I didn't expect you'd bring company, honey."

Soojin, looking slightly anxious, looked at him. "Right. This is Park Woojin, my friend from school."

"That friend?"

"Yes. That friend."

Woojin wondered what the hell that meant. Still, with a polite smile, he said, "It's nice to meet you, Mrs Yoon." He even held his hand out.

Mrs Yoon, though, dismissed it with a wave. "There's no need for formalities! Why don't you come in with Soojin and I'll just wait for the pizza here?"

"You do know they deliver door-to-door, right?" Soojin said.

"They're being extra careful about security in the building, so they don't let delivery men enter anymore," her mom had explained. "Take—what's your name again, sweetheart?"

"It's Woojin."

"Right. Take Woojin upstairs, and I'll catch up with you," Mrs Yoon said.
