"You've been avoiding me all morning."

Soojin almost shrieked. Which would've been horrible considering she was in the library.

Park Woojin dropped the books he has with him on Soojin's desk quite loudly and made the nearest librarian to shoot him a dirty look.

"You've also left me on read last night," he added after slightly bowing apologetically to the librarian.

"You never go to the library," Soojin said, trying to change the subject.

"And you never told me about how last night went," Woojin said. "Which must mean..."

Yes, Woojin. She didn't even get to ask. Mrs Yoon straight-up collapsed in her bed after she got home, and Soojin's motivation and self-confidence dropped like it was hot. Props to you if you understood that reference.

"... she said no," Woojin continued. "That's too bad. I was really looking forward to going with you."

Soojin must have had some sort of bewildered expression on her face because after saying that, Woojin's eyes widened and he shook his head frantically.

"I mean, Youngmin's with Hayun and Donghyun's... okay, I guess... But we like the same stuff, is what I'm trying to say. I mean, I didn't mean to make it sound like I think of you that way, I mean. Do you think I think of you that way? No. Right?"

Soojin wanted to laugh at how flustered he was right now, but since they were in the library, she had to restrain herself. But it wouldn't hurt to let a giggle out.

"Stop giggling," Woojin told her and began fanning himself with his hands. "I'm usually not like this, you know."

Soojin only laughed more.

"God, I feel so uncool right now."

"You were never cool," Soojin stated.

"Tell that to my Twitter followers," Woojin bragged. "I bet I have more followers than you'll ever have. Maybe that's why you won't give me your username."

"Sure, let's think of it that way," Soojin said.

"Okay, now I'm starting to think you have more followers than me, which is, by the way, impossible," Woojin said with a laugh.

"It might be," Soojin said. "But you'll never know, right?"

"I hate you."

Soojin flashed him a toothy grin.

"Don't tell me you're one of those big accounts who steal tweets from everybody..." Woojin said, narrowing his eyes at her and stroked his chin dramatically.

Soojin laughed as silently as possible. "No, stupid."

"That's a relief." Then Woojin's face got a bit serious. Soojin can't believe that can happen within five seconds. "But really, though... Changmo and Nucksal will be there. You can't miss it."

Soojin cleared her throat. "About that. I haven't actually asked yet. It's a long story."

It took Woojin a moment to process this. He then shot Soojin a disgusted look. "I feel betrayed. I can't believe you didn't tell me to shut up earlier."

"You didn't even give me the chance to stop you!" Soojin said in a voice louder than she expected it to be, which earned her a good "sshhh!" from the librarian. She then said softly, "It was kinda funny."

"It was not." Woojin grabbed the book Soojin was reading when he got there. "Tell me everything."

So Soojin did.

"Damn, you're unlucky," was all he said after.

"Yeah," Soojin agreed. She wanted to give up. "Maybe this just isn't gonna work. I mean, there's still Buzzer Beat next year. Thanks anyway, Woojin."

Woojin gave her another disgusted look. "I can't believe you. You're giving up already? Are we really breaking up like this?"

"W-what? I—You—you're not my boyfriend!"

Before Woojin could say anything, the librarian beat him to it.

"You and you," the librarian began, "leave now. This is a study area, for Christ's sake. Don't go around screaming unless you want me to ban you from here."

Avoiding eye contact with Woojin, Soojin quickly gathered her things and left after muttering an apology.

Now Woojin was confused.
