Everyone hates Mondays. But probably not as much as Park Woojin's class probably does, because they have PE right on their first period. It's amazing how their school thinks this is totally okay.
Woojin walked to the grandstand, the place their PE teacher said she would meet them last meeting. His classmates were already lined up at the asphalt part of the oval, by surname, as their PE teacher wanted, and after dumping his stuff with theirs, Woojin joined them.
Not long after their PE teacher had arrived, and the laps around the oval began. Woojin has literally been doing this ever since he enrolled at this school, which was like, nine or something years ago, yet he still struggled finishing in time. It was a miracle how he still managed to be fit.
After the laps, the PE teacher told them to stretch for a bit, and she left after that. Then the complaining began.
"I almost passed out," said his classmate Jia from behind him.
Remarks similar to hers were also uttered, and Woojin related to each and every one of them. He laid down on the seat, put his arms under his head, and closed his eyes.
"Hey, Woojin, we've got like, thirty minutes to make ourselves not smell like shit for the rest of the day," his friend Donghyun said, hitting him with a face towel.
"I'm so tired."
"I think we're all tired here, doofus," Youngmin said.
"Did you just Victoria Justice me?"
"Get up," Donghyun said. "And put your arms down. You have sweat stains on your armpits."
Youngmin laughed.
That did it for Woojin. He rose so quickly that his head spun a little as he sat.
"Where's everyone?" he asked his friends.
"Gone," Youngmin replied, "which is why we should go, too."
"Fine."
Woojin got a towel from his gym bag and draped it around his shoulders. He yawned, and as he stretched he looked around, soaking in the 8 AM sunlight. Then he noticed a rectangle-shaped device lying on the floor a few feet away from them.
"Hey," he called out and gestured to the Samsung Galaxy-something on the floor, "do you know who that belongs to?"
Donghyun and Youngmin both looked at it.
Youngmin shrugged. "Probably one if our classmate's."
As he was the nearest, Woojin walked towards it and picked it up. He pressed the Home button and the thing lit up. What got his attention was the signature Linchpin symbol on the phone's lockscreen.
"This person likes Just Music," Woojin observed out loud.
"Really?" he heard Donghyun say. "Then we're probably friends with the owner. I'd be sad if we weren't."
Woojin tried to swipe the screen open but it demanded a passcode. He flipped it over and saw a sticker pasted at the back of the phone.
