In the name of Allah, the beneficent, the merciful.

Islam is a religion of peace and purity. It is followed by over 2 million Muslims worldwide, making it one of the largest known faiths globally. As I've mentioned in parts of this book, a Muslim girl begins to wear a hijab once she attains the age of maturity. This of course, is meant to cover her body from head to toe, excusing the face and hands. The reason for the hijab is to express modesty, and not terrorism, as some people falsely claim. It states in the Quran, surah 7, verse number 26 (regarding both genders):

"O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you clothing to conceal your private parts and as adornment. But the clothing of righteousness- that is best. That is from the signs of Allah that perhaps they will remember."-Surah Al A'raf

And regarding women and girls specifically, Surah 33, verse number 59:

"O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close around them (when they go out). That will be better, so that they may be recognised and not bothered. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful." -Surah  Al-Ahzab.

In other words, a hijab is technically a protection.

This book does not only stand for Muslim girls who practice their religion in school or anywhere else, but it also speaks against bullying and peer pressure. Those who hold prejudice within their hearts aren't true Americans, or so they call themselves. "Just Another American" not only speaks for those who feel degraded because of their personality and practices, it also expresses the point that you are you, and you shouldn't let others affect the way you are. Every one of you is unique in your own way. I hope you enjoy reading about Rani as much as I enjoyed writing it.
