She has no idea how scared I am for her. She laughs, but it sounds strained. Her makeup's kind of washed off, leaving streaks of Kohl and mascara on her face. That doesn't make Rani any less beautiful. I shoot my sister a glare that indicates 'Shut up.' Lorelei smiles. I hate when she teases me. Rani grins. How wrong I was about her, how stupid. She's just as pretty in her hijab as anyone else who doesn't wear it. Even more beautiful. I flush scarlet. I'd give the whole world for my Rapunzel. Something flickers in my heart. I want to know Islam, I really do. But doesn't she know that she has it?
