"Valerie- come in commander maraan. Padawan are you there?" Lornetta yelled frustratingly at the comm link.
-there was no answer.
"It's no use general; we have lost contact with commander Maraan." A nearby trooper repeated himself for the third time.
"But we cannot just give up on her!" Lornetta desperately said to the clone trooper. Lornetta may strictly follow the code, but that doesn't mean she doesn't care about her padawan.
"Our scanners indicate that no one could of survived the crash" another clone trooper said solemnly to lornetta. "I'm sorry sir. Commander Maraan didn't survive."
"Padawan- I... I'm so sorry. It was my plan..... It was my fault, what caused her ship to crash?" Lornetta said, dismayed by what had occurred.
"It appears that her ship's engine imploded because of overheating. Something that could of been avoided if it was properly maintained" a young voice said from behind "it may have been poor mantinence on the clone's part or it could have been sabotage" lornetta quickly turned to meet the solemn gaze of Techla.
"You believe that someone murdered Valerie?" Lornetta questioned the padawan.
"Possibly. Padawan Maraan was a very bright and talented student. The separatists may have wanted her dead." Techla dutifully replied to meet lornetta's stern gaze.
"But who would cooperate with the separatists? One of our own? How do we even know it was murder? As you said; it may have been simply poor mantinence. We have no proof at the least!" Lornetta reprimanded Techla.
"Well we will just have to find some" Techla wittily replied.
Techla and lornetta began making their way to the hangar bay to look for clues. They where meanwhile chatting trying to piece together what happened.
"So what was her personality like?" Techla was questioning lornetta on their way to the hangar bay.
"Why do you ask?"
"I need to piece together some information-"
"How will her personality help with our investigation?" Lornetta began to question Techla.
"Did she have any gifts? Like from the force? Like how bastila shan had the gift of battle meditation and..." Techla tried to continue.
"I need to speak to you in private- let's go into that room" lornetta ordered.
The two Jedi quickly filed into the room- it was very blank- small with a table and two chairs and the walls of course where painted a light grey colour.
"Valerie has a rare gift from the force.-" lornetta continued
"My padawan doesn't know it but she can see things that normal jedi can't. Valerie can view memories from other people by just seeing where they went. Remnants of the past. She can also see the future of those people- what is to come of their fate." Lornetta said darkly.
"Why didn't you tell her of this secret?" Techla questioned.
"Valerie was the Jedi councils hope- their hope to find and expose the dark lord of the sith and his- or her followers. We thought that if we told her she would become mad with power, we decided to wait, to let her settle in with normal Jedi life. But she didn't want normal jedi life- she was... She was always to proactive- never hiding her emotions or controlling them. It is possible that count dooku learnt of her power and began to plot against her." Lornetta continued her explanation.
Techla was bewildered, but frightened also- if the seperatists learnt of a gift a Jedi had that that Jedi didn't even know about it proved that this trickery- this plotting goes deeper then she once thought possible. It makes out that you cannot trust anyone.
"If this was a plot against her, it means that there is a traitor in our ranks." Techla said regretfully
"So it seems" lornetta replied in a darkened tone.
