Jessica's POV

Ring!

I was straightening my hair while my phone rang.

***Conversation with caller***

Jessica: Hello?

Unknown caller: Um hey... just wondering if you'd like to hang out this Saturday? Like, to the movies or somethng?

Jessica: That offer sounds appealing but who are you?

Unknown caller: Oops! I'm so sorry. Adrian here.

Jessica: Oh hey there! And sure! A date to the movies sounds really good. How about we check out Divergent? I heard it's really good.

Unknown caller aka Adrian: Wow really? Okay then, I'll text you on Saturday about the details maybe?

Jessica: That's settled then. Gotta run! Bye!

***Conversation ends***

I have to admit, Adrian seems like a really sweet guy. I mean, he's got the looks and all but his previous girlfriend, Amber, lasted for a whole year. But they broke up because she shifted house.

I picked up my straightener an continued doing my hair. And my phone rang again.

Ugh!

Have you ever felt like that? When you're bored and have nothing to do, you have no texts, no calls, no nothing. But when you're busy, BAM! You're suddenly the most popular person on earth.

Annoyed, I picked up my phone.

"Who's this?"

"This is Caleb."

Woah. Is he calling me?

"Well if your Caller ID says it's me then it's me." he made a weak attempt at making a joke.

Did I say that out loud?

"Yes you did. Anyway, I need a favour from you. Are you at home? Because I'm locked out of the house. I forgot to bring my keys. I think I left them on my desk." he said.

"Oh sure. Give me a minute." I said and hung up.

Uh wait. Where are my keys?

After literally flipping my room upside down, I still couldn't find my keys.

Gosh, where are things when you need them?

I decided to look for Boris but then I realised he was out grocery shopping. Can you imagine that? Boris grocery shopping I mean. I chuckled at that thought.

I think I left them on my desk.

Caleb's words replayed in my head. Will he mind if I go into his room to get the keys? Probably not.

I walked to Caleb's room and entered.

Dang his place is much neater than mine.

His bed was made.

All his books are placed neatly at the corner of the mahogany table.

His Macbook was closed and lying in the middle of the desk.

But no sign of his keys.

I decided to 'look around his room a little', if you know what I meant.

I opened his closet, expecting clothes to be strewn all over. But to my big surprise, his clothes were folded and color coded. Wow.

I opened the top drawer of the desk and something caught my eye. Two things actually. His keys. And his diary.

I couldn't resist picking up his diary and flicking throught the pages. I looked for his last entry. Which was one from yesterday:

Sigh... Adrian asked Jessica to be his girlfriend today. Do you know how much my heart hurt when it happened? She broke my heart (what's left of it anyway) even further when she agreed. Seems like I'll never find true love huh?

Cal xx.

I stood there, dumbfounded. He likes me?

Then I remembered what I came here for. I hurriedly put his diary back and walked briskly to open the door for him.

~~~~~
"Christ! What took you so bloody long?" he asked.
"Oh, uh, sorry. Your keys weren't on your table. It was in the drawer of the desk." I replied.
He mumbled something inaudible and went up to his room.
