The Lucky One

Chapter Nine

May 19, 2015

-Gigi-

Today is the last day I will see Taylor, Ed, and Ali for probably awhile. Since they've came, I've been actually feeling happy. Plus, my house fits my style now and looks, well, not depressing. They're leaving because Taylor has another show tomorrow in a totally different state. She's really helped distract me from everything and I, honestly, wish she didn't have to go. At least, not yet.

What's going to happen once she leaves? Sure, I won't be as sad about what happened with Cody but I'll have more time to think about him and that is not good. We'll all going out for lunch before they have to pack up and go to the airport.

Ed has mostly eaten since he's been here. Well, that and watching TV in the living room while Taylor and I decorated. Ali has been hanging out with her friend Alisha a lot which is good. She always seemed a bit bored when she was around here. It's nice that she got to have fun and see her friend again.

Currently, I'm in the kitchen, cleaning up the dishes from breakfast. Taylor has seemed to enjoy the time she has had off. She probably wished she wasn't here pretty much just distracting me the whole time. But, she did seem to enjoy her little time off. Sometimes, I just felt like I was being a burden on them.

Anyway.

"I can't believe we have to leave today," Taylor says as she enters the kitchen. She actually seemed really sad about it. I nod and walk into the living room with her to just sit and talk one more time. "This feels like home now."

I say, "I wish you guys didn't have to leave, honestly. I'm a little scared with what I'm going to do by myself. There'll be more time to think about him."

"Do what you love, working," Taylor says with a soft smile. I laugh and nod my head. I really do love working because I'm passionate about it. Lately, I haven't been doing as much as I could because of the whole Cody thing. But that ends today.

"You're right, Taylor," I say. "Thanks."

Ed and Ali walk downstairs and we spend an hour or two in the living, watching TV and talking. Okay, mostly talking. But, this is one of our last times to really do that. Except at lunch, of course. "We should probably get going now," I say with a sad smile.

Ed nods, "Yeah our reservation is in ten minutes."

We're going to one of my favorite places to eat at for lunch here in LA. Taylor's driver takes us there and we're there only a few minutes later. Really, we could've walked but with all the paparazzi, that was out of the question. We get seated right away and handed the lunch menu.

"Guys, I do miss New York City," I say once we order our food.

Ali's eye widen, "I've always wanted to go there!"

"Do you want to go back?" Taylor asks. I could tell she thought I would leave all of our hard work behind but I wouldn't. I shrug.

Ed says, "You have to do what you want to do. What'll make you happy."

"I'm probably going to have this as a vacation type place," I finally say and Taylor's face lights up. She has a place here, in New York City, Rhode Island, and in Nashville. She knows what it's like to go from house to house when needed. There are great opportunities in New York City but also here, in LA.

The food comes and we all start eating as we're all super hungry. I suddenly got super sad that they were leaving but also excited for the future ahead of me. There's so much I can do having two places! Work here and in New York City. Although this is a "vacation place."

Nah.

We all finish eating quite fast but sit there for another ten minutes just talking. None of us wanted to get up because that meant going home. Going home meant packing meaning the airport. Airport meaning the three of them leave.

After those ten minutes, we all stand up and walk to the car where Taylor's driver is waiting for us. We get in and the drive there goes by super fast. They go straight to their temporary rooms to start packing because they can't be late for their flight. I sit on the couch while I wait for them.

I'm going to the airport with them and Taylor's driver is going to drive me back to my house once they've boarded. I want to have every last second to talk to them about just whatever. Taylor didn't have to come here to help me, yet she did, and that means everything to me.

The ride there is about ten minutes but it only feels like two. I see the dreaded airport and we all get out. "Thanks, Gigi, for everything," Taylor says and gives me a hug once I can't go any farther with them.

I say, "No, thank you. You didn't have to come but you did. Thank you for helping me with this."

She gives me a huge hug and Ed comes up to me. "I'll miss you," he says and I hug him, as well.

Ali says with obvious tears in her eyes, "Keep in touch Gigi. I'll really miss you."

"I'll miss you guys so much," I say after giving Ali a hug. We all do a group hug and then they leave so they don't miss their flight. I go back to the car with Taylor's LA driver where he takes me to my house.

As soon as I'm in my house with the door closed, I slump down and sigh.

I'm all alone.

-Taylor-

Leaving Gigi was a lot harder than I thought it would be. As we walk away from her, I wipe a few tears that have escaped my eyes. We get to the plane on time and soon enough we're landing in Louisiana. Ali is super excited since she's never been here before. I smile seeing her face literally light up like a Christmas tree.

We're taken to a really nice hotel where the rest of my crew are staying, as well. We're only really staying in the hotel for a night since, after the concert tomorrow, we're on a bus to the next city. "After we get some dinner, I'm going to have to go to bed since I have to get up pretty early tomorrow," I say and the two of them nod.

We go to one of the first fast food places we see and decide to bring it back to the hotel room. We checked in, went to our room, and started eating. All three of us are super hungry. "I'm going to bed," I say after I finished the last bite of my burger.

"Me too," Ali says and Ed agrees.

It's been a long day.

Quickly, I get ready for bed so the two of them can get ready, as well. As soon as my head hits the pillow, I'm fast asleep.
