The familiar, irritating high pitched bell rang through the crowded hall as I fought my way to my history class, muttering half-assed apologies as I shoved people aside forcefully.

I only had one year left here and then I would be set free from this hell hole. I can't wait.

One of the many plain wooden doors became visible to me as I got closer to the wall, I roughly pushed through a group of obnoxiously loud, beefy looking guys talking about clowns and how they were insanely creepy. I rolled my eyes at their idiotic conversation as I pushed the door open to see several people scattered randomly throughout the large room.

A hand waving spastically in the air caught my attention and a shout soon followed, "Rachel!" My best friend of eleven years smiled broadly at me as I sluggishly walked over to the set of desks she was currently situated at. I absently glanced around the classroom to see a few girls fixing their hair and reapplying their bright lipstick in their little hand held mirrors from their makeup cases. A couple of guys in the back row were eagerly looking at a magazine with a scantily dressed blonde model on the front cover in a ridiculous pose, I felt my face scrunch up in disgust. Pigs.

I slumped onto the chair beside my best friend, Jessica Williams, as she beamed at me excitedly. I smiled slightly at her constant happy-go-lucky attitude, "What's the gossip, Jess?" She grabbed my arm tightly with her long acrylic nails as her light blue eyes sparkled slightly. "Stephanie Adams might be pregnant!" Her voice was low enough that no one else could possibly hear us, she watched me as the words registered in my head.

My eyes widened in disbelief at the gossip. "Really? Who's the father?" She shushed me as a few people glanced our way curiously.

"I said she might be, we'll have to wait a week or two." I nodded and turned to the front of the room to see our teacher, Mr Robins walking into the room with a perfected scowl on his wrinkled face and a cheap cup of coffee in his hand. The voices lowered slowly as he set up his desk for the lesson, most students were on their phones now or murmuring to their desk buddies.

Mr Robins turned to class and began speaking in a monotone voice that most students tuned out easily, "I really don't care what you young people do in my class as long as you don't annoy me." I furrowed my eyebrows and looked around to see the other students doing the same thing.

He wasn't even gonna teach us anything?

A girl in the front raised her hand as her thick black glasses slid down her small nose while she peered up at the grouchy teacher, Mr Robins reluctantly called on her. Just as she opened her mouth to speak the door opened loudly and Mason Woods swaggered in like he owned the place, he was unfortunately one of the hottest guys in school and he definitely had the ego to prove it. Most of the girls in the room sighed dreamily or threw flirtatious looks at him as he sauntered over to the desks Jess and I were seated at. He sat in the spare seat beside me as I continued to draw random shapes on a blank page in my notebook.

Sadly, Mason and I are in the same friend group so I always have to deal with his constant manwhore ways and out of control ego. It is excruciating.

Before we continue on let me tell you a little bit about the wonderful Mason Woods. He's basically a god here, girls -and some guys- constantly fought for his attention like love-sick puppies and guys either wanted to be his friend or were insanely jealous of him. It's so cliche that it makes me sick, honestly. The guy even has his own fan girls! Just because he looks like a Kelvin Klein model doesn't mean that he had to be a dick all the time though. Oh, and to top it all off he's also a football player.

"Of course you're late, Mr Woods." Mr Robins just sighed and walked back over to his desk, grabbing a tattered Romeo and Juliet book from under a pile of sheets.
