"C'mon, keep up, buttercup." I glanced down at the wonderfully thick book that was currently clasped in my hands, I was so very tempted to peg it as hard as possible at his stupid face. He smirked down at me smugly as if he knew exactly what I was thinking about doing right at that moment.

My legs continued to move at a rapid pace as I tried to catch up to him with an unattractive scowl practically carved onto my face, "Well not all of us can be fucking giraffes, you know." I grumbled in annoyance, my hand twitched and I wanted nothing more than to smack him with my book right in the head for just being Mason.

We continued to walk down the wide, deserted hall and after a few beats of silence between us his hand shot out and wrapped around my bicep before he abruptly yanked me into an empty classroom that had been carelessly left open.

"Hey!" I yelped as I almost slammed face-first into the wooden door frame, I heard him let out a chuckle and then try to cover it with a cough. Asshole.

I easily pulled my arm from his loose grasp and walked over to one of the many desks before sitting on it comfortably, swinging my legs back and forth like a little kid while keeping my gaze set on the moron before me as he peered out the door, scanning the hall for anyone to walk past.

"I hear someone coming." His entire body stilled for a moment as he listened to the sound of several pairs of high heels clicking on the tiled floors as they walked towards our 'hiding spot', "Several someones."

Way to state the obvious, Mason.

I reluctantly slid off the desk and walked back over to his large frame that was currently leaning against the door casually, I silently slipped under his arm and looked out to see four or five of Anne's followers tottering down the bright hallway in their giant ass stilettos while gossiping amongst themselves or texting like their lives depended on it.

"You know..." I started as a slightly evil grin sprouted on my lips at my new direction of thoughts, "If we get caught kissing by them then surely one of them will tell Anne." He glanced down at me with his normal mischievous spark in his eye and nodded several times, then he grabbed my hips with his large hands and easily turned me around so that I was fully facing him.

"That sounds much easier." His gaze flickered from my face to the girls down the hall behind me, "I think one of them has spotted me now, too."

I ignored the heat of his large hand as it rested lightly on my hip, "Well we need to set the plan in motion then, don't we." As the annoying clicking of their heels grew louder throughout the hall Mason took a deliberate step forward and I casually leaned back against the dull white wall, keeping my eyes trained firmly on him.

He leaned down until his face was level with mine and his cool, minty breath fanned over my cheeks as he moved forward with a smirk firmly set on his face, "Try not to enjoy this too much, buttercup." His voice was an octave lower as he moved dangerously close to my face, I refused to let him affect me and instead rolled my eyes as a slight scoff escaped my lips.

"I can assure you, I won't." I murmured then screwed my eyes shut just as his warm lips brushed against mine, they were oddly soft and rough at the same time which was kinda weird. Definitely not what I was expecting though. He pressed them more firmly against mine when I didn't respond immediately, after a brief hesitation I trailed my hand up his firm chest to the back of his neck slowly and tangled my fingers in the thick strands while my mouth moved in sync with his as if we had done this millions of times before.

On a completely unrelated note, his hair is really soft. I wonder what conditioner he uses because not even mine is that good.

The click of heels halted near us as someone spoke, disrupting the quiet around us. "Is that Mason...with Rachel Black?" A feminine voice whispered loudly as the guy in question swiftly removed his mouth from mine and instead started to trail small kisses along my jaw instead.

I hate to admit it but he was actually a pretty good kisser, like unfairly good.

I opened my eyes slightly and out of my perephial vision, I saw that they were all staring at us with curiosity. Mason pulled back a couple of centimetres and stared down at me with slightly swollen lips, his gaze flickered over to them momentarily before returning back to mine.

I ignored their probing stares as I stood on the tips of my toes and placed a feather light kiss on the corner of his mouth before pulling him further into the classroom as all of the girls quickly vacated the hallway, eagerly gossiping amongst themselves again. Probably about what they had just seen go down between Mason and I.

I exhaled in a whoosh once they were gone and couldn't help but let out a little laugh at the whole situation, it was utterly ridiculous. The corners of his mouth tipped up into a barely there smirk, "What are you laughing about, buttercup?"

I leaned my head back against the wall and tried to quiet my laughter, "If someone had of told me a few weeks ago that I would actually help you by agreeing to fake date you to get rid of Anne, I probably would've directed them to the nearest mental asylum."

He ran a hand through his dark hair and let out a chuckle as his eyes stayed trained on mine, "Always so sweet, buttercup." I flashed him an innocent smile that probably looked way over done before turning to peer out the door like we had both done only minutes ago, when I didn't see or hear anyone I grabbed my book bag from the floor by my foot and slung it over my shoulder.

I swiftly turned back around to face Mason, "Right, now that step one of our plan has been completed we just have to wait for Anne to hear the news." He nodded with half smirk on his face, just as I was about to make my way out the door I turned slightly and flashed him a devilish grin. "Oh, and one more thing, you should learn how to kiss properly instead of slobbering on me like a dog on a hot day."

The lunchtime bell rang and I swiftly turned with a satisfied grin on my face as his smirk dropped in seconds and a disbelieving expression replaced it, striding down the hall and joining the throng of half dead students heading to the cafeteria.

Thank god it's lunchtime, I'm absolutely starving.
