"Buttercup." A slightly familiar voice murmured from above me as something warm poked my cheek lightly, I grunted silently and turned my face away from whatever it was that was annoying me before dosing off again.
"She's gonna hurt you if you do manage to wake her." Another eerily familiar voice spoke with clear amusement coating their words, abruptly pulling me away from my sleep again. I threw my hand out beside me and grabbed one of the many pillows that lay abandoned on my bed then pulled it over my head in an attempt to block out their annoying voices.
The pillow disappeared in an instant and I begrudgingly opened my eyes, hissing slightly when the bright rays of morning sunshine shone straight into them. I quickly turned my hazy gaze to the faces that hovered above me, all of them wore similar expressions as they peered down at me. I clenched my eyes shut again and rolled to the other side of the bed before curling up into a ball with my legs to my chest, now slightly pissed off that I was being rudely awoken from my well deserved sleep.
I felt the bed beside me dip beneath someone's weight, "Whatever you're waking me up for better be fucking good, I swear to god. Like better than a giant jar of Nutella or an entire bag of skittles." I murmured in a sleep coated voice that made me sound way less threatening than I would've liked and slowly peeled my eyelids open once again only to see Mason's dark eyes right in front of mine, he grinned devishly as a mischievous glint glittered in their depths. His face was centimetres away from my own, I furrowed my brows and moved back slightly, I was also trying not to breath my horrid morning breath on him. "What the fuck are you all doing in my room? And Mason why are you in my damn bed?"
"Well, good morning to you too, buttercup. " He didn't even pause to let me speak, "Get up, get dressed and meet us downstairs when you get your cute ass ready." He patted my cheek as his infamous smirk settled on his plump lips before standing, making his way out of my room at a leisurely pace without a glance back. Jess, Ari and Micheal all followed him out with matching smiles on their faces, amused at my slightly agitated self.
What can I say? I'm not a morning person.
I heaved out an annoyed breath before throwing the invitingly warm blanket off my torso, a rush of unpleasantly cold air slithered under the blanket and goosebumps erupted over my skin in seconds as it came into contact with my exposed arms. I slowly swung my goosebump covered legs over the edge of the bed and firmly placed them on the wooden floor, it was colder this morning than I would've liked. After a few seconds of contemplating whether or not I really wanted to get out of my awesome bed I forced myself to stand and sluggishly walked into my bathroom to shower.
After a few minutes of standing beneath the scolding water as it washed away my grogginess until I was awake enough to function like a normal human being, I reluctantly got out and wrapped myself in a fluffy white towel before I attempted to make myself look presentable for the day.
I dressed in one of my favourite and most comfortable outfits then moved onto my almost untamable hair and makeup. I gathered my unruly hair up into a messy bun as a few loose strands curled from the water and framed my face, I smeared some light brown eyeshadow onto my lids with my usual dark eyeliner, swiped on some mascara, coated my lips in a clear gloss and brushed a bit of blush onto my pale cheekbones. "I actually look good today." I mumbled and nodded in satisfaction at the girl standing before me in the mirror, her dull brown eyes locked with mine.
I stepped out of the warm, steamy bathroom and dawdled back into my bedroom to grab my purse along with my phone and keys. Once I was positive that I had everything I needed for the day I slipped on a pair of lace up high heel boots that matched my outfit nicely.
My friends were waiting in the kitchen for me when I made my way down to them, Jess was the first one to notice me as the heels of my boots clicked onto the floor quietly, "Took you long enough." I stuck my tongue out at her and grabbed a piece of bread from the pantry before sticking it in the toaster, they all continued to chat idly as I savoured my Nutella covered toast.
I swallowed my mouth full of toast and brushed the crumbs off my fingers as I flickered my eyes between all of them, "So why the hell did you all wake me up at some ungodly hour of the morning?"
Jess perked up instantly at the sound of my voice with a happy expression on her face and a slow grin stretched her bubble gum pink lips until her perfectly straight teeth glimmered faintly in the early morning sunlight, "I've decided to introduce you all to Ethan today."
"Wait, your boyfriend? Ethan?" She nodded at me and out of the corner of my eye I spotted Micheal throwing her a dissaproving look like the protective big brother he is. "Are you guys dating yet?" She shrugged and glanced back down to her phone as it lit up with a giddy look on her face, the grin on her face didn't falter at all as her fingers started tapping rapidly over the brightly lit screen. After a few heartbeats of her tapping away she looked back up from the screen and locked her phone, slipping it into the back pocket of her denim jeans before she stood.
"Right, let's do this then. I bet you're all dying to meet him, too."
