CHAPTER 7
*PENNYWISE'S POV*
Like a snake, I slipped my way through Y/N's window, as quite as an owl hunting a mouse, my movements slow and precise.
I looked over to see her there all snuggled up under her quilts, this one peeked my curiosity. I slithered over to her bed, beaming over her unconscious body. She continued to sleep, completely unaware of my presence.
I reached toward her, stretching forth my gloved fingers, barely touching her cheek.
"Why'd she think I attacked her" I whispered to myself.
I pulled my hand back to my side leaving her to rest. My gaze was taken away by her bedroom, the walls were covered in 'fan-girl' posters, which I looked upon in confusion. A phrase I had heard being thrown around in a conversation between two school girls one day. The walls, decorated with a bunch of games, Pac-man, Mario and Tertris, alongside a selected few favourite films, such as Point Break, The Shining and Back to the Future. I gazed upon the chest of draws, placed on top were a variety of decorative items you had collected over the years.
I smiled out of interest as I looked around the room, looking at the sparkling fairy lights that rested on the wall above where she slept, to the little cuddly toys that rested on a chair in the corner. It almost reminded me of a carnival, the bright and pretty lights, posters strung up all over the place, the cuddly toys you could win. The sight of it all almost made me happy, making me look back across to her once again, as she laid there peacefully.
I stepped to the side of the bed and looked down at her, kneeling down by her side as to be closer. I couldn't help but notice how adorable she looked whilst she laid there sleeping.
I stroked my fingers gently through her H/C hair. I looked down at her soft cheek, slowly leaning over to her face, gently kissing her cheek....
*PENNYWISE HAS A FLASHBACK OF THE WEEK PAST*
I secretly watched her from the shadows as she walked to and from work that whole week, admiring her, yet staying hidden to avoid her seeing me.
I know that I had frightened her and I didn't want to risk that again, the look on her face when she saw me that night... I didn't know her that well, but this girl made me feel different, she wasn't like the rest.
I thought of her confusion that evening after work, where she contemplated on whether or not I even existed. I couldn't help but giggle to myself at the thought, I looked back down at her, her eyebrows furrowed as she pulled her hand up to her face, rubbing her nose before she let it flop back down to her waist. I looked around the room to see if I get leave something for her, something to say "I am real".
"I'll leave her a balloon, she'll know I'm real then" I whispered under my breath, jingling as I did so.
I blew one up, a real balloon, with a real string, and tied it to her bookshelf. I looked over to it and back down to her, a tear suddenly rolled down my cheek. I reached up and wiped it off, looking at the residue it had left on my glove.
"Why am I filled with so much guilt?..." I whispered, as I turned towards the window.
I climbed up onto the window sill, looking back onto her resting figure, smiling before I jumped down onto the street, making my way back down into the sewer system. I looked back up one last time, up into her bedroom window as I stood there in the cold darkness of the pipe.
"Rest well" I whispered to her, turning and walking into the dark.
*Y/N's POV*
That morning I woke up well rested. My eyes stinging from the sudden burst of sunshine that hit my face. I pulled my hand over my face and stretched my arms and legs out as fair as they seemed to go. I yawned obnoxiously and opened my eyes once again to notice a red balloon was there floating across from my bed. I froze as I looked around my room, readied for any kind of attack from that crazy clown Pennywise. I looked back across to it, watching as it gently blew around from the lovely breeze that was blowing through my window. A wave of excitement flew over my body, it was a normal balloon.
"Holy fuck, he was in here??" I whispered to myself, a little over excited considering the previous gesture of seeing or receiving a red balloon from Pennywise.
I threw myself from my bed, tossing my blankets to the side. I reached toward it hesitantly, hoping it wasn't some nasty trick. Yet nothing, I touched the balloon, it squeaked that odd way they do, and smelt like the fair. I couldn't help but smirk at the thought of him leaving it for me. I slapped my hand on my bare hip as I turned and looked out into the early sun lit street. A wave of joy flew through me as a cool breeze brushed my hair to the sides of my shoulders.
"Wait that's totally seedy, that he came in here whiles I was asleep... but, I have to see him again, I need to talk to him. I have so many questions" I said to myself.
I was now pacing up and down my room.
"Where could I find him again? He must want to see me, right? Why would he leave me a balloon if he didn't? What if he tries to bite me again, or what ever it was he was trying to do?"
So many questions went through my head. I stopped for a moment, throwing myself back onto my bed.
"Where could he be?" I wondered, facing my window.
