A Year Later

Its been a complete year since Anthony and I broke it off. I have been dating Colby for 5 months now, but this past month with him, I've felt really distant from him, we don't talk as much as we used to, we don't hang out out much either and when we are together, its almost like we aren't together.

The cats and kittens all went to the vet got shots, check ups and were treated for any disease or sickness they had. I still have both the parents and two of their kittens, the rest I was able to put into loving homes. I have spent time with Corey catching up on everything, Devyn, Katrina and I have become really good friends. I paid Aaron back for helping me with the kittens, even though he insisted I didn't and gave the money back, I slid it in his room before I left one night when he wasn't there.

I am at home right now, hanging with Kian and Jc since its been awhile since I actually sat down with them. We're watching the three older cats run around the house chasing each other. Jc also has a cat, we all call her Kiggy. The two kittens were curled up with each other in Kians lap.

"Why do they all love you? I'm the one that saved their little asses."

I complain to Kian from jealousy of them not laying with me. He laughs and shrugs.

"How are things with Colby and you?"

Jc lightly hits my shoulder with the back of his hand, Kian slowly turns leaning against the arm of the couch facing me.

I sigh looking back at the three cats. I smile lightly and turn to Jc and Kian.

"I don't know, something just doesn't feel right. Not like he is cheating on me, but it just doesn't feel the same. Like, I find myself becoming uncomfortable around him, like I can't be myself like I used to."

I explain zoning out.

"Talk to him about it, best thing you can do in this scenario."

Kian shrugs stroking Milo's head softly. I named the boy Milo, half his face is orange with one greenish yellowish eye, and the other half is black with one blue eye. I named the girl kitten Zelda, she was, white mixture of grey, she had a vague orange colored eye and a dark blue eye with a spot of brown. The mother cat was black white and grey with green eyes and I named her Abigail but Abi for short. The father cat is Loki (Low-Kie), he is white, but mostly two different shades of orange with green eyes also. (I know I said something about the kitten being black and the mother being white i think I'm not sure, but just scratch that.)

I nodded.

"I'm gonna go talk to him right now."

I stand up pulling my black spandex down and grabbing my phone off the couch. I order an uber, because I don't feel like driving today. When the Uber gets here, I text Colby as I climb in the back seat, telling him I'm on my way. I get out of the Uber thanking the driver and heading up to the gate.

I text Corey to open the gate for me, because I still haven't gotten an answer from Colby, so I'm assuming he is editing. Corey opened the gate for me from his bedroom window, I jog to the front door and go straight to Colby's room. Like I said he had his headphones in and was editing.

I walked in and laid on his bed, knowing he doesn't like being interrupted when he is editing. I patiently wait an hour or so, playing on my phone and just looking around the room. He closes his laptop and turns around in his chair, his toned stomach facing me. He furrows his eyebrows at me. I sigh sitting up swinging my legs over the side of the bed.

"Can we talk?"

He stands pushing himself up off of his chair. He runs a hand through his hair.

"Is it bad?"
