"And this is where the magic happens." Daniel says, springing the door open to his room. After the whole dramatic episode we had, he said that since I was already here, we might as well tour the whole house. Daniel went on to say that his home was nothing much and its overly decorated, but I rolled my eyes and told him to show me his house. It's absolutely gorgeous.
The first room we went to was the kitchen, it was very bright to say the least. The wood was white and the colors ranged from yellow to orange, mostly warm colors. Nothing was out of place, it looked like it has never been cooked in. It looked perfect but it didn't feel... home-ish? It felt like it hasn't been lived in, like it was for show not for a family. There was nothing else downstairs except for a door to the patio, the garage, and to the basement. Next, Daniel grabbed my hand and dragged me upstairs where he pointed out his parents room (which I didn't see), his brothers room (which I also didn't see), and lastly the mucho grande bathroom. It was beautiful; not bright light expected, mostly dark colors and earth tones but still beautiful.
Throughout the entire house was pictures of the family. The basic family photos, baby pictures, sports photos, but there was one that stood out to me. Right outside of Daniels room is a picture of him and his brother. He looks about 13 years old, thus making his brother about 9 or 10, and they have these huge smiles on their faces. The background is kinda dark but you can see that the boys have face paint, so it's easy to say they're at the fair or something similar. The two of them are on the ground, laughing their asses off, they look as if they don't have a care in the world and I cherish that. Youthful fun gives me the most cheerful vibes, primarily because I never got that. So to watch others have that makes me happy rather than makes me envious or jealous.
"Nida, stop staring at my pictures and come in here!" Daniel yells from inside his room. I stomp my foot and groan loudly.
"¡No me apresures! ¡Puta!" I exclaim, walking into his room. It's not at all how I pictured it would be. Instead of messy and boyish with posters on the wall, it's very pristine. The walls are a pale blue, nothing on them, a queen sized bed pushed against the wall, a wooden desk with a computer, and a door to a walk-in-closet. The bed is made as if he was in the military, there's nothing on the floor, nothing is out of place. Now, this could be because of his maid but he also may just be a neat person. "Your room is clean."
Daniel barks out a laugh and smiles at me before flopping on his bed. "Yeah I know, crazy isn't it?" A hint of sarcasm plays at his words. I sit on the edge of his bed and hit his foot. "I'm not a person who likes a dirty room." He adds. Nodding in response, I look around again. The idea of me being in a relationship, or whatever this is, still baffles me immensely. Planning has always been my thing and when things go off course, I tend to freak out; and I've had my fair share of freak outs because of Daniel.
"You zoned out again baby doll." My eyes snap to Daniels and I shake my head.
"What? No I didn't." He smiles and sits up so that we're almost eye level. God damn, I'm short even while sitting. Daniel's eyes bore into mine, and I can feel his stare down to my core.
"Then what was I talking about?" He grumbles, sending a shiver up my spine. My breathing goes a little faster and I bite my lip to try to regain myself. His eyes are affecting me so much, he could probably hypnotize me to do whatever.
"Uh... sex?" My eyes widen and my hand immediately flys to cover my mouth. Daniel just starts laughing like a damn hyaena on the spot. "I didn't mean it like that! No! Wait!" I can feel my face turning red from embarrassment but all my focus is on his laugh. He's so cute when he's happy. I can't believe I just said sex.
Daniel clutches his stomach and his forehead falls onto my collarbone, yet he still continues laughing. In an instant all my embarrassment goes away and all of that is replaced with emotions and warmth. I would kill to stay in this moment forever.
