Jed didn't know whether is was the long journey, the long walk from the throne room to his bedroom or the hot bath that was waiting for him when he walked into the bathroom, but he slept like a baby. His room was bigger than he thought it would be. The walls were made of stone like the rest of the palace, so the room was naturally cold, but there was two large duna's atop his bed waiting for him. There was nothing else in the room other than a built in wardrobe, a small desk under the window and the suite bathroom. Although he fell asleep instantly, he was wide awake and ready to go when Lailah knocked on his door the next morning.
"I'm surprised to see you awake."

"Are you just."
"All the men I have trained in the past had to also be trained how to wake up on time without an alarm."
"Well then I guess I'm already doing better than you thought."
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves." She said. She was sassing him with a neutral face, how was that even possible? She let Jed down another 500 hallways, or what seemed like it, until they finally reached what resembled a court yard. "I have my second in command running the training for the actual army today, so we will be training here in the court yard.
"And I am supposed to fight you?"
"I would like you to actually survive this training session, so no, you will not be fighting me. Shaegin!" She called for whoever Shaegin was and he appeared moments later. "Shaegin, I would like you to fight Jedrik Candor at Human speed please." They interacted respectfully, but also as if they were friends.
"Of course, Captain." He replied. Captain. So that's what to call her. Great. He didn't have much time to think about what else he would like to call her has Shaegin ran at him.
"What about the training part?" Jed yelled.
"I need to know what you need to improve on before I can train you. Do your best, both of you. I don't want to waste my time." So they fought. Jed actually thought was was doing okay until he realised Shaegin was fighting alot slower then he usually might. It was about 5 minutes before Shaegin had him pinned the ground. "I'm impressed. But you have alot to learn."
"So where do we start."
"From the start."

They trained for what seemed like hours, but when they finished the sun had only just fully risen.
"Breakfast." Lailah said. She shook Shaegin's hand and handed him 3 small cards.
"What's that?" Jed asked.
"Meal cards. When you do favours for me, you get a different meal to others. It's more ethical than paying them money straight up."
"And what is a Human to eat during a Vampire meal time."
"You don't miss much do you. Don't worry, I had something made up for you, you'll be taken care of." And with that she walked out of the court yard. She didn't wait to see if he followed. This girl was all business no fun. Awesome. The breakfast hall was lined and filled with tables and Vampires. Lailah sat at a table on the outside next to another girl with brunette hair and stunningly green eyes.
"Where shall I sit." Jed asked.
"On a chair, hopefully." Lailah answered. She held his stare, both eyebrows raised, and he noticed that the girl next to Lailah did the same. He pointedly sat down right next to Lailah. The girl he didn't know the name of nodded and Lailah turned to her. "How was training in the barracks this morning?"
"Some of those boys are stubborn, but it was far more enjoyable than standing in the bloody tower for hours on end. I thank you kindly for letting me take over for you."
"Well, that'll probably be happening alot more, we have alot of work to do." Jed felt himself blushing, but neither girls seemed to notice. "Jed, this is Nat, my second in command and best friend, Nat this is Jed."
"Pleasure" Nat said, however she wasn't looking at Jed anymore, but around. "God I'm starving, where's the blood." She said. As if on command, another Vampire put 2 glasses down in front of the two girls. It could have been tomato juice if Jed didn't know better. Jed swallowed.

"I hope you can handle the smell, you'll get used to it." Lailah said. She started sipping on the straw.
"I can't smell a thing." He said. As he said that, a plate was placed in front of him. It has chicken, vegetables and mash covered in gravy. "Well this is much more appetising than I was imagining."
