eleanor james sat peacefully on her porch, watching her younger sister play in the puddles. the rain pouring down as they wore their bright yellow raincoats and obnoxious red rain boots. they had moved to town a few weeks prior and were clearly unaware of the children going missing. "eleanor, come here please!"
the thirteen-year-old girl let out a small sigh before removing herself from the steps, stopping before she entered the house. "rose?! don't go too far from the house and don't talk to strangers! i'll be back!" she called out to the small girl who gave a small nod and a quick 'okay!'
"you needed me?" the blonde inquired as she entered the kitchen. karen, her mother, gave a list of chores to complete before her father came home. "better get to it," the older woman smiled sweetly before gently shooing away the blue eyed girl out from the kitchen. in messy cursive writing it read: laundry, tidy room, take out trash and set table.
however, it was thirty minutes within doing laundry when they heard the ear-piercing scream of the eight-year-old girl. eleanor dropping the second basket of dirty clothes instantly to rush outside. the second scream falling from her mother's lips as they stopped at the front door, the sight making them stop completely.
it was the next week when the teenaged girl walked into school with jet-black hair cut neatly to her shoulders, no longer having waist-length blonde hair that made her ocean eyes stand out perfectly. people staring at her with pity as she kept her head down low, not muttering a word, a certain group of boys watching her as she stopped at her locker.
she could feel their stares burning a hole through the back of her head and she turned to glance at them, causing them to rush off in fear that they would trigger something in her. eleanor pulled out her old headphones and walkman and began her journey to figure out who the hell killed her little sister.
