bloody hell
eleanor had given stanley a quick explanation after getting dressed and packing her bag. he didn't believe a word she was saying, but with the sudden outburst of panic and urgency he had followed her to beverly's place. the two had quickly discovered they weren't the only ones who were called there.
on their way the pair of young teens had met up with the rest of their friends. beverly had called ben then bill. bill then called richie who had called eddie and now they were all outside of beverly's home.
"i need to show you something," beverly had told them and eleanor had picked up on the underlying panic in her voice. she gave a side glance to stanley who had just been arguing with richie as usual.
"what is it?" ben asked, concern written all over his face and then richie had to open his big fat mouth.
"more than we saw at the quarry?" he joked, earning a punch in the arm from eleanor who had dropped her bike as soon as she arrived.
"shut up. just shut up, richie!" eddie exclaimed.
"my dad will kill me if he finds out.. i had boys in the apartment." beverly stated and eleanor watched her body language.
"then we'll- we'll leave a lookout." bill said gesturing to the five of his friends. "richie. sta-stay here." he instructed holding his hand up as if richie was a dog trying to learn commands.
"whoah, whoah, whoah. whoah whoah whoah. what if her dad comes back?!" richie questioned and eleanor turned to him.
"do what you always do." she started. "start talking." they all then ventured up the stairwell. richie awkwardly holding onto his bike and saying how him talking was a gift.
walking through the hallways of beverly's apartment left an uneasy feeling in eleanor's stomach and she went to reach for stanley's hand before stopping herself. what was she doing? she couldn't like the curly haired boy, could she?
"it's in there." the red haired girl pointed to a door at the end of the hallway, snapping eleanor from her thoughts.
"what is it?" stanley asked.
"you'll see." beverly stated before they all moved closer to the door.
"are we gonna see your bathroom? because like 80% of the worst accidents are caused in bathrooms. and-and and that's where all the bad bacteria and fungi are and it's not really a sanitary place." eddie rambled.
the door creaked open when bill pushed on it, the red radiating through the light. "i knew it. eulgh." eddie gagged.
"you see it?" beverly queried. eleanor was beyond shocked, blood coating everything in the small bathroom.
"what happened in here?" eleanor and the curly haired boy asked at the same time. her blue eyes meeting his gaze and she gave an awkward smile at him. you weren't supposed to get attached, she thought to herself.
"my dad couldn't see it." the red head stated, turning to her friends.
"well if you're crazy, then we're all crazy." ben concluded and eleanor could feel pieces of a puzzle solving themselves in the back of her mind. they were all seeing things and it had to be connected to the weird history of derry.
"we- we can't leave it like this." bill stuttered before entering the bathroom.
"then we're in bloody hell for the next few hours." eleanor said, pun intended before following the tall boy into the blood coated room.
