The First Text (A Why Don't We Fanfiction)

CHAPTER 13

{Side Note- I've been in school, so I've had loads of work so I haven't been able to update :( But anyways, enjoy this chapter!}

"I'm sorry Kale but what do you want me to say?" I tell him.

"Answer truthfully. Please...."

He sounds kind of desperate to know.

But I mean, how could he know?

I don't want to betray the trust of all of the manageament and even worse, the boys, if I told him.

"What do I get out of it if I say?"

"Nothing. Just, it's important for me to know....."

"Yes.... but what for?"

"I won't tell anyone, if THAT'S what you're worried about..."

I contemplate this.

Would he stay true to his words or not?

I've practically only just met him.

I contemplate for a long time, all the possibilities and 'what if's' until Kale asks,

"Are you still there?"

"Ummm yes...."

"Eli, please...."

He sounds pleading, and before I can actually re-think my choices again, I blurt out "yes, I'm at their house".

I instantly regret it.

"That's all I wanted to hear...."

"Kale, why-why do you want to know?"

I am so curious.

But also scared, because I've now told him...

What the fuck?

"I recognised that girl you were with... Sara?"

"Ummm yes...."

This is making me super uncomfortable.

"I recognised her from a picture with that ....lil' dude. My little sister was obsessed with the band, especially with the lil' dude. She kept testing me on them and stuff like that, so I know all of the ins and outs of the band.. but she doesn't like them anymore. I don't either, not after what happened...."

So, that's how he recognised Sara.

Makes sense.

But why did he want to know why I was here in the first place? And why did he say 'after what happened'?

"Why do you want to know so bad?"

I swear I can hear him mutter under his breath and he takes a deep breath.

"Those guys are shit dudes..... they fucked up my sister. She got given a bad reputation. She almost took her own fucking life because of the drama involved with them but she's doing better now..... Eli, please be safe, they're not even good guys..."

Why is he saying all of this?

And why does he even care about me that much?

And then something clicks inside my brain, like a puzzle slotting into place.

"Kale....what's your sister's name?"

"Leela....why?"

HOLY FUCKING SHIT.

KALE is LEELA'S older brother?

Oh god.....
