INTRO: The Number 23

Before we get into the actual theories. This is something that I noticed, and certainly something that I think will be relevant in Gorillaz later on. As already mentioned in the Rise of The Ogre, "23" is a number that not only pops up often in Gorillaz. But it pops up often in life.

Here's the page where they mentioned all the "23" references in life

Here's the page where they mentioned all the "23" references in life. Murdoc doesn't seem convince, and he even convinced the narrator to not be convinced. But I am convinced. I do think that 23 has relevancy, and it certainly wasn't something that they had forgotten about.

The characters are often seen wearing "23" on their clothes. 2-D was "23" when "Self-Titled" was first released. Noodle was created along with "23" other kids. "Demons Days" was released internationally on May "23rd". In these Plastic Beach promos, all of the characters are holding up signs with the number "23".

But Humanz ALSO has the numer "23" involved, and not just in promotional arts either. I find it very interesting. Humanz is known and criticized for having so many collaborators. I counted up how many collaborators there were, because I wanted to prove how ridiculously large the number is. And well.....

1. Ben Mendelsohn
2. Vince Staples
3. Peven Everett
4. Popcaan
5. De La Soul
6. Danny Brown
7. Kelela
8. Grace Jones
9. D.R.A.M.
10. Anthony Hamilton
11. Mavis Staples
12. Pusha T
13. Jamie Principle
14. Zebra Katz
15. Kali Uchis
16. Bejamin Clemetine
17. Jehnny Beth
18. Rag 'N' Bone Man.
19. Ray BLK.
20. Imani Vonsha
21. Kilo Kish.
22. Carly Simon
23. Brandon Markell Holmes.

At first I thought "23?! That's A LOT!!!" Then it hit me.....There's 23 collaborators.....23. There's no way this is just a coincidence. I think "Noel Gallagher" was on We Got The Power. But I don't think he's credited, so I don't count him.

I don't know what the number "23" means, but I have a strong feeling it's gonna be relevant, perhaps on the Gorillaz 23rd anniversary....Or, maybe we'll find out this phase.
