Chapter 2: Heroes are Here

(David's POV)

I looked in worry as a blast of green shot right towards my shy friend. She put her arms over her face. 'What is she doing, MOVE' I thought. I was too shocked to speak. I felt a strong wind on my face. And opened my eyes. There was a shield of Air in front of Chloe. We all stared in shock. The energy ball vanished and so did the shield.

"What the hell just happened?!" She screamed. Her armband was glowing and so were ours. I heard Patty scream. We look over to see that his hands are on fire! Syd looked darker than before; Brady and I gasped as she disappeared into the shadows. Sara's hands were frozen, literally. Brady moved his hands over to help Patty out and as he moved his hands, water flowed along with him. He stared and started to stress himself out. I freaked out along with everyone else. And I felt the ground shake.

Chase just stared at us with a smirk, "Congrats guys, you passed the test." We all calmed out as Chase's body went to normal. He chuckled and explained. "I come from a long line of people who create powers. that was just a show of my "work in progress" powers. I made the armbands you're wearing. I chose you six to save the world, to save humanity. So you must use the powers you just saw that you had and fight for our dimension." I had so many questions.

So I decided to ask, "Who are you?"

Syd spoke up, "Why chose us? You don't even know if we are good or not."

Patty spoke up too, "There's dimensions?!"

Chloe finally asked what we were all thinking. "Why are we saving humanity? We're no heroes! Humanity is screwed!" We all nodded in agreement.

Chase lowered his voice, "You all have something special. More question will be answered later. We must go to our new headquarters."

All of us except Sara spoke in unison, "HEADQUARTERS?!"

"Our?" Sara spoke quietly.

[At the headquarters]

Chase brought us to the new headquarters that we would stay in. It was decked out! There was a mini bar at the kitchen, huge TV along with the couch. And each of us had our own bedrooms decorated to match our elements. Brady and I walked into a training room filled with dummies and obstacles for us to train our physical skill. In the back were six rooms. One with things that were flexible to Chloe's Air ability. Then there was one next to it that had my element qualities in it. One for Syd's Shadow powers. One with a large sum or water in it, I assumed it was Brady's room for training. The room next to it had ice spattered across the room. That one was Sara's. Finally there was a room with flammable items in it. I figured that was Patty's room to practice controlling his fire blasts. "These are your personal training rooms," Chase said as he motioned towards the six rooms.

"They will be used to test your elemental skill and to make sure you have the endurance to withhold your power," Chase explains.

I nod and ask, "What controls our powers?"

Chase responded in an almost annoyed tone, "Well your armbands are the source of your power, but your power usage is based upon your emotion. If your emotions are at peace, your powers will be the same. But freak out and your powers will go haywire!" We all snickered under our breaths as he waved his arms around, but stopped when his face went more serious, "Your powers will be the hardest to hide when your at school."

Chloe started to lose it, "Why can't we use our powers at school?! We'd finally be able to show up your friends! Why are you even helping us if you hang out with those douchebags?!" Everyone was shocked by her outburst, she was usually so calm. I guess the powers are making her stressed. I patted her back as she began to calm down.
