It was two days after the iced coffee incident and I was sick of being avoided like the plague. Seriously. Blake  growled at anyone who reached within a 3 foot radius of me. My brother was worse than a possessive werewolf boyfriend.

The only bright side though was that, with my classrooms being too far away from his, I could easily avoid him. Except for lunch. And whenever he had a free period.

“Hey Rae! Watcha thinkin’ about?” one of Blake’s best friends, Tanner, threw an arm around my shoulders. Instantly, Blake appeared and stared at his arm like it would magically fall off.

“Nothing much. And Blake would you mind not looking at Tanner’s arm like that? It makes you look constipated.” I said, shrugging his arm off.

I was surrounded by Blakes best friends. They all looked at me like their little sister, which was both adorable and annoying in a way. It was like having 5 Blakes in my life, and that seriously sucked lollipops.

They all had the same height, which definitely highlighted my height, or lack there of.

There was Tanner, who had blond hair that looked so soft,  green eyes and pale skin. I’ve known him since we were kids actually and it drove him nuts that I went to the same school as him now, since I knew every single embarrassing thing that happened in his life.

Unlike Blake, I wasn’t bound by the ever-present ‘bro code’ to NOT tell a soul of his... misadventures. Not that I’d actually tell anyone. I loved Tanner as a brother and wouldn’t dare ruin his deeply coveted reputation. He was known as the ladies’ man. Like seriously, he made my brother look like an angel.

Then there was Theodore, who asked me to call him Theo. He had thick dark brown hair that reached the nape of his neck and stormy grey eyes. He was, most of the time, quiet and reserved. Always the voice of reason. I told him once that I was glad he was with us because he helped me stay sane.

Theo always had this intimidating air about him. Maybe it was the fact that he was ripped. Like, all muscle, no fat whatsoever, and slightly tanned. The kind of tan that made your skin darker, but glowing at the same time. Or maybe it was the fact that he had tattoos on his whole right arm and a piercing on his left eyebrow and his left ear. Whatever it was, he was scary if you didn’t know him.

But I knew him, and let me tell you, he was an absolute softy. He even cried when we were watching Rise of the Guardians and Pitch (The Boogeyman) over powered Sandman and made him not exist anymore.

And lastly, were Cyril and David, who were twins.

Cyril dyed his hair orange and red, while David dyed his hair blue and purple. They told me not to ask, and honestly, I was too afraid to even know. Both had these hazel eyes that kind of made you get lost in them.

They were absolute trouble. They loved pranking and even had reserved seats in the detention room. But they were real sweet hearts who loved making people laugh. But never, and I mean NEVER, get on their bad side. You’ll regret it. Immensely. And end up going to school smelling like rotten fish. With a terrible spray tan. And permanent marker on your forehead stating that you were a big sissy. And with a car that had a Power Puff Girls’ themed paint job.

“Anyway, I gotta go before I end up being late for first period again.” I told them, skipping away from their protective circle around me. Like I actually needed them to do that.
