Left. Right. Left. Right. I said in my head as I watched my feet move. I was currently pacing in the parking lot, waiting for Nick to come and get me.

“Eep!” I squeaked, tripping on my own two feet. A pair of arms wrapped themselves around me, balancing me before I fell. How I managed to trip on my own two feet at a slow and steady pace is beyond me. I turned around to thank whoever caught me and saw it was none other than the Greek god himself, Nick. He gave me a smile that could make even an emo undepressed.

“Hey.” He said, amusement ringing in that one simple greeting. His arms held me close to him, so close I could feel his heart beat.

“Hi.” I replied, sounding breathless. Seriously Rae? My V.O.R. told me irritated. What? It’s not my fault he takes my breath away. Nick dipped his head down to whisper in my ear.

“What’s going on in that head of yours?” he asked me, his breath fanning my neck. I shook my head, trying to get rid of the stupid fog Nick put in my head with his gorgeousness. Stupid, frustratingly good-looking guy. Stupid, hormonal brain.

“N-nothing.” I told him, shrugging him off of me and taking a step back. He has gotta learn this thing called personal space. Nick let out a laugh and slung an arm around me, leading me to his car. He was going to drive me home, seeing as we were going to make our project there. The ride home was quiet, only broken a few times when I sang along to different songs from the radio. Nick would glance at me from time to time, a small smile on his lips. I kissed those lips, I realized suddenly. I kissed Nick. And we never really got to talk about it. Should I open it up? Or should I just let it be? Did it actually mean something? What if it didn’t mean anything to him? Ouch. That would definitely suck lollipops.

“What are you thinking about?” he asked me and it was then that I realized that we were finally outside my house.

“Oh, uh, me?” I asked, being dumb and pointing to myself. I could feel my V.O.R. rolling her eyes at me.

No Rae, he was obviously talking to the lizard above your head. She told me, tauntingly. On instinct, I looked up abruptly, my fear of lizards coming to life inside of me. When I found none, I looked down and saw Nick eyeing me curiously.

Ha! Made you look! My V.O.R. said again, and I imagined choking her. I was snapped out of my thoughts when Nick cleared his throat.

“Hey, is something wrong? You’ve been zoning out a lot lately.” He asked me concerned. I just nodded my head and gave him a weak smile.

“I’m just peachy.” I said in a slightly shrill voice.

“Peachy?” he raised an eyebrow at me, as if asking me what it meant.

“Yeah. Peachy. It’s used as a replacement for ‘I’m fine’” I told him, opening my car door and stepping out of his car. I looked back to see him copying my movements.

“Shall we?” he asked, offering an arm. I grinned at his weird totally-forced British accent.

“We shall.” I replied with an accent just as bad as his. He chuckled as we both made our way to the front door of my house.

“Give me back my journal you overly tall, gorgeous, annoying, arrogant, self-centered boy!” I shouted, stomping my foot in frustration, glaring at a very smug looking Nick who was holding up over his head my gold and black covered journal.
