Handling things with Leah seemed to come to a short stop once the Cullens exited the home curious as to what the ruckus being made outside was all about. Leah was still seething over the fact that she had come to join Jake when she could have stayed with Scarlett under her pack. The truth was she wasn't angry at the fact that Scarlett was now the alpha she was pissed that she hadn't told her, it happened days ago and yet she was just now finding out and through her brother's thoughts no less. Scarlett overhearing Leah's thoughts gave her a quick look of apology now understanding what was going through her mind, the wolf let out a growling snort as a warning for her to get out of her thoughts, Leah's ego weakened a bit.

"Scarlett, its nice to see you," Carlisle called down to the yard from the top deck, the rest of the Cullens outside as well, Bella being coddled in Rosalie's arms as it was getting harder and harder for the human to carry her weight on her weak legs and bones. Scarlett grimaced at how awful her friend looked, she was border lining death as they stood there.

"I'm sure it is," She trailed for a moment, "Listen, I'm here to inform you that I'm now the Alpha for the pack," a series of shocked expressions and short gasps were heard from the deck, yet they were all overpowered by a booming 'hell yeah?" from the residential bear of a vampire. Scarlett fought a smile over his excitement over her new title.

"So what does that mean for us? For Bella?" Esme asked concerned, her voice as soft and tinkling as ever as she spoke smoothly. Scarlett hated how kind Esme was, it made it hard to say the next words seeing the gentle caring look in her dark golden eyes, her stomach lurched.

"It means you're fine for now, you can hunt, you don't have to be prisoners in your own home," They let out a breath of relief but Scarlett quickly interrupted them before they could celebrate, "But once the baby is born, things can change. If the baby is a threat to the people of this town and mine, I won't be able to stop the pack from an attack, and I don't know that I would stop them in the first place. We don't know what the baby will be if it will be more human or vampire, or vice versa. I have to look after my family, just like you look after yours," Scarlett explained to the group, tears welling in Bellas' eyes at her ex-best friend's words, yet the alpha remained strong.

"You're apart of our family too Scarlett," A simple honey laced accented voice spoke, Jasper who stood on the side staring at the girl intently. That made her stop for a split second, there was no one she missed more than Jasper and Rosalie, their dynamic during the time they spent together was as easy as breathing. They laughed and told stories and the blondes taught her more about the world and life than anyone else ever had. They were her best friends, but then again so was Bella.

"No, I stopped being apart of your family the second you left, and the second I shifted." She shook her head avoiding eye contact with the southern vampire, " Those are the conditions, that's what will happen when the baby is born I'll come and assess the situation. I hope everything works out for the best, " She told them honestly she didn't want to have to fight the Cullens if the baby ended up being dangerous, she didn't want to have her pack fight them either despite how much they want to. The Cullens despite everything they had done were good people, decent people who didn't deserve to have to die. But with the odds stacked up against the Scarlett wasn't even sure that they would win either, lives would be lost on both sides, a devastating battle would surely be the end of the Cullen Coven and Quileutte pack all together.

Scarlett turned towards the wolves beside her, "I'm sorry I waited to tell you guys, it was a shock to me as well. I want everything to work out good for everyone, if you guys want to come back with me you can, but I'll understand if you want to stay too. I just want you three to know that no matter what this comes to, I'll always love you guys, and don't you forget it okay." She stated not giving them a chance to answer as she took off towards the woods, jumping off a rock to shift midair, landing on the tuffs of her white paws leaving behind three wolves and a coven of vampires still in silence in her wake.

She ran through the forest, the looks and expressions on the Cullens face flashing through her thoughts, she could tell they were shocked by her words. She was alpha but it wasn't that, it was the fact that after the baby was born she was still willing to fight. Yet she couldn't find it in herself to feel bad for her decision, as the Q'waeti and the alpha of the pack she had a duty to uphold, she needed to protect her people and the people of the world. Even though she wouldn't take back her choice, she found herself wishing that she could go back in time, before the shift before Bellas birthday back to when they were all friends. To when Scarlett knew what they were but wasn't afraid of them, wasn't threatened by them. She wished she could just jump into a time machine and go back to a time where everything was okay, better.

Before she knew it she was approaching her home, she quickly shifted not bothering to grab her hidden stashed clothes and choosing to just walk into the home stark naked intending on grabbing a robe the second she walked through the door. What she didn't intend on, whilst deep in her thoughts was for Paul to be home,

"Wow, I swear every time I see you, you get more breathtaking," Scarlett jumped in fright, not seeing him sitting on the couch. She rolled her eyes, grabbing the handing robe by the door wrapping it around her body.

"Flattery will get you nowhere, you know," She stated, watching as he opened up his arms to her from the couch. Though she had yet to fully forgive him for his actions she couldn't help but fall into the tempting entrapment that was his arms around her. She leaned back against his chest, his arms squeezing her tightly in his hold while his chin rested on her head, breathing in deeply.

"How were the Cullens?" He mused curiously after a moment of silence between the two. She chuckled lightly under her breath.

"Do you really care?" She wondered, already knowing the answer.

"No, not really."

"That's what I thought," She told him, though wasn't very much bothered by it since she had always known how much he wasn't a fan of the vampires. She turned serious for a split second, "Can I ask you something?"

His grip tightened, pressing his lips to her hair, "Of course you can Scarlett, anything,"

"Do you think we'll be okay, after all of this, after everything will we be okay?" Her voice was barely heard as she spoke.

"We'll be okay Scarlett, you'll be okay, I know you will because I will do everything in my power to make sure you are," He told her powerfully, knowing that if it came down to her life or anyone else's, including his own he would always 100% without a single doubt in his mind, chose her. She would be okay, and if she wasn't, he would raise hell.

"No I don't just mean me, I mean us," She explained thoroughly.

"As long as I have you, baby, I'll be okay. Just you and me remember?"

"I remember, just you and me forever," She turned pressing her lips to his, and it wasn't long after that her robe was dropped to the floor around them.
