Chapter Nineteen; That is called kidnapping!

“What’s up with Riley?” Leah asked while checking her nails.

Leah was one of Anna’s friends. She became one after telling her some kind of rumor. Both of them clicked right away.

Even though Anna didn’t like rumors that much, she still loved to talk, and she loved to talk about people.

They sat together every lunch, and even in the classroom. They became friends so fast that I didn’t notice anything.

Or that I was really busy with my own problems.

I shrugged. “Leave her, she still thinks so highly of herself.” Leah chuckled while nodding.

“Exactly! It’s like she thinks that we are in some kind of mean girls movie where she is the popular girl and she has to treat us like shit.” In my mind, I agreed. But, in real life, I didn’t answer, though I knew that she understood.

It was hard for her to understand me in the beginning. But, when she saw me this morning she was all happy and tried to get through my walls (she also tried  not to get offended by anything I said.)

What she said was right. We didn’t have groups in our school. There was no cheerleaders’ table, or nerds-slash-lonely’s table, or even a  normal table.

Almost all our tables were nearly broken.

Everyone can walk with anyone they like. But to Riley, she lived a complete movie life.

I don’t feel sorry for her. Later, something is going to happen to her and she is going to get it twice as bad as she made others’ life.

After a few seconds, Leah went away, leaving Anna and me alone. We sat in silence and I started to wonder if she was still mad at me for ignoring her.

She did look mad. She seemed to be really frustrated, like someone just took her puppy away from her, and told her that they would kill it.

But then, she broke the silence, “Drop the glare. You look scary as hell.” Anna frowned at me, while stabbing her salad harshly. I sighed, and leaned back.

I looked down at my food. Thanks to Issac, there was a lot of food in there, and that made me feel sick. I tried to distract myself by looking around the cafeteria.

It was packed – like usual. Watching people eat wasn’t doing any good for my stomach. If anything, it made me feel worse.

“The glare, Jodie, the glare.” Anna snapped. I scowled and glanced at her way. She was eating fast, while blinking as if she was trying her best not to cry. I narrowed my eyes.

“What’s wrong?” She shook her head and tried to swallow, making me raise my eyebrow. “I know you want to tell me. Just say it, I will try not to comment.” Even though there weren’t any tears, she sniffed a little, and looked at me with sad eyes.

“Sean,” she sighed when she said his name, making me cringe. That boy again? “I saw him with another girl today. He was talking, and laughing with her right in front of my freaking face!” Her once soft voice, and sad eyes turned into a completely different thing. Flames almost came out of her eyes, and she started stabbing the salad more, making some tomatoes and other ingredients fall on the ground.
