"How could Deliora be transported to Galuna Island all the way from the northern continent... and why?" I questioned as I looked up at the monster engulfed in ice. I didn't know whether it could have something to do with the curse or was he just being used for another purpose altogether? We had definitely stumbled upon something much more than we could handle. S-Class Quests really were something else and ever since I had gotten promoted not once did I ever try and go off on one alone.
That was mostly because my entire team was stuck on the first floor. Imagine going off by yourself on a dangerous high rank mission without the two people that you've done almost everything with. It just wasn't something I had ever been interested but thanks to Laxus, he had hyped Natsu up so much about this stupid mission.
There was no turning back now.
"Maybe he has something to do with what's happening to the villagers." Happy scratched his head, thinking. Gray hadn't moved from where he stood just staring up at the demon with wide eyes. "I wouldn't be surprised if he did, Deliora is still alive - just trapped inside the ice."
"Let me give it the beat down it deserves, I'm not scared of no stupid monster!" Natsu grabbed his bicep with a grin. I swore he thought he was indestructible which wasn't the case at all. Lucy seemed to agree with me as she grabbed him and made him stand beside her. "You don't always have to solve problems with brute strength. Think for once!"
"Fine, then how about a little Magic? Some fire should melt this bad boy dow-"
A fist struck him across the face, sending him across to the other side of the cage. Gray had a wicked deranged look which was rather scary and it was obvious that he felt something strong towards their current situation. I stepped into the space between the two boys, just in case anything else happened. "You hear Lucy say to not solve problems with brute strength to Natsu and then you go and punch him? Come on, Gray!"
"I don't want him or his stupid flames anywhere near that ice! If he breaks or melts it, Deliora will get out and destroy everything."
Happy crossed his paws. "Natsu wouldn't be able to get through all that ice, you know it and we all know it. Even he knows it."
"I know..."
I sighed and turned around, looking at him as he gazed down at the ground. Whatever battle he was fighting up there in his head... someone was losing. I just wished I could put him in the palm of my hand so that nothing and no one could hurt him.
But I couldn't, and that was the reality of it all. "Can you tell us the story behind Deliora now?"
Gray looked up and sighed, nodding. "Many years ago, my Master Ur casted a spell called Iced Shell on this demon. She enclosed him in a type of ice that can't just be melted, not even the most powerful flames or explosives can do it. I'm sure those people know that it can't be and if they do know, why would they bring it here? The change of climate would have no effect either."
"We need answers and the only people who can give them to us are the three weirdos who were just in here. So it's simple, we need to find them." Natsu shrugged.
He merely held his hand up to stop us from agreeing with the idea. "It's better to stay here and wait for the moon to come out. The curse on this Island and Deliora could both have something to do with it." It was a sensible plan but it was also going to be rather boring considering it was the middle of the day so we'd have to wait until nightfall.
"This is going to be so boring! I refuse to sit here and wait, we've got work to do people!" Right after Natsu shouted that, he easily fell onto the floor and went to sleep. Lucy sat down on a rock with Happy and looked down at him, "All he does is eat, sleep, and fight. It's crazy, but he looks so cute sleeping." She had her head in the palm of her hand, looking down and admiring him.
