*Ross's POV*

"Dude. What's wrong?" I walk up to Riker and place my hand on his shoulder.

"Nothing I guess. I can't do anything about it," he shrugs with a tinge of sadness to his movement.

"Riker. Is it the whole Gina thing?" I sit next to him on the couch.

He stays quiet.

"It is," I sigh.

"It's nothing really Ross. I mean, I can't help who she likes. Plus, like you said...she is five years younger than me," he says sadly.

"Listen. I'm sorry about saying it was cause of your age difference. It wasn't. I don't think it has anything to do with the fact that you are five years older than her. I just think it wasn't meant to be," I tell him.

"You know, if you didn't like her, you wouldn't be saying this. You would be telling me to try and chase her. That she could possibly like me," he looks up at me.

I sigh. I think for a minute for something wise to say that won't start a war.

"That might be true, but this is how I feel right now," I tell him truthfully.

"Ok. Well, I'm tired, so I'm going to go to bed. Night Ross," he pats my back as he stands up.

"Night," I lay down on the couch that I now have all to myself. I decide to sleep here instead of my bed because I'm too tired to walk upstairs. Don't judge me! I'm just really tired, not lazy!

I snuggle up with the pillow and close my eyes, drifting into a deep sleep.

*Next day; after online school*

*Gina's POV*

I sit in my room with my old, run down guitar in my hands. I strum some cords of a song that I used to know. I forgot the rest of the song besides those few cords.

My phone starts ringing and I go to pick it up.

Unknown

I click answer and put the phone to my ear.

"Hello?" I ask cautiously.

"Gina?" The familiar voice asks.

"Um, who is this?"

"Gina, it's Rydel! Ross gave me your number," she says all giggly.

"Oh! Hey!" I laugh.

"So me and the boys were wondering if you wanted to come over. I mean I know you came over yesterday, but it's fun having you over," she says.

"Sure," I giggle at how much she rambled on.

"Okay, great! See you-SHUT UP!" She screams, interrupting herself. There is a little conversation going on on the other line, but I can't hear it. "Sorry. Ross wants to know if he can pick you up."

"Uh, sure. If he wants," I shrug even though she can't see.

"Ok. He will be there in about five minutes. See ya soon," she says cheerfully.

"See ya," I say.

I then hang up the phone. I grab a sweater and wrap it around my waist. I slip on my white converse over my socks.

As I walk down the stairs, I'm grateful my dad isn't home.

I walk to the counter and grab my purse.

When I walk past the living room, I want to throw up. There are condom wrappers on the floor, the couch cushions are all over the place, and there is a bottle of beer spilled all over the coffee table.

I gag as I pass it and go to the front door. I open the door and sit on the curb, waiting for Ross.

After about three minutes, Ross pulls up.

"Hey Gina! Hop in!" He leans over and opens the door.

I walk up to his car and step in. "Thanks," I buckle myself in.

He shifts his gear into drive and pulls out.

"So how has everything been? You know, since yesterday?" He chuckles slightly.

I shrug. "Ok...I guess."

"What do you mean?" He asks, locking his eyes on the road.

"Oh nothing. Just personal stuff," I lean my head against the window.

He stays quiet until we get to their house. When he parks the car, I unlock it and step out and walk to the door.

Ross opens the door and I step in.

"Gina!" Rydel screams and runs to me.

"Hey Rydel," I laugh.

"Let's go to my room," she pulls me by my wrist up the stairs.

As I feel a tugging sensation on my other hand, I look and see Ross is pulling me by my other wrist. "No! You guys should stay with us," he says.

"Um, this is the first girl around my age that has come over to our house in forever. I need some girl time," Rydel rolls her eyes.

I look at Ross and shrug. "Sorry."

He frowns and drops my hand. "Fine. Be that way," he crosses his arms.

I roll my eyes as I follow Rydel up the stairs.

We get to a room with a sign that says, "No Boys!"

Rydel opens the door and allows me in. I sit on her perfectly made bed as she sits next to me.

She jumps around in her spot. "Spill it! Riker or Ross?"
