Brooke and Haley were sitting at Karen's cafe waiting to meet Brooke and Lucas' sixteen year old son. Lucas wouldn't be there because he was away to take a break from Peyton so they chose the cafe to meet.

Haley had to stop Brooke from leaving twice, but when a young man who looked a little like Lucas walked in Brooke froze.

"That's him." She whispered to Haley. "It has to be him. It's Lucas."

Haley slowly turned and saw a blonde girl walking to the counter with a blonde guy following her, she looked closer and saw a glimpse of her best friend in the young man.

"Maya, will you let me explain, please?" He begged walking up to the young blonde girl.

She turned and Haley got a better look at her face.

"No need, Ranger Rick. You chose Riley, just tell her that." She shrugged.

He shook his head. "No, I didn't. Zay and I were talking about you."

The blonde scoffed and Haley stood, Brooke tried to pull her down so they wouldn't see them yet, but Haley walked over.

"Sure sounded like you were talking about Riley."

He sighed. "Yeah, but I was trying to figure out-"

"I know you." Haley said making them turn toward her. "You're Maya Hart."

Brooke was busy staring at her son and Haley was busy staring at Maya. No one noticed the other teens walking inside.

"Yeah and who are you?" Maya snapped.

Haley blinked at her tone then smiled. "I'm Haley James Scott. Your cousin."

Maya blinked. "My who?"

Haley just kept smiling. "You're Katy Hart's daughter, right? Formerly Katy Clutterbucket? My mother is Lydia Clutterbucket well she was, but she married my father Jimmy James."

Maya opened her mouth, but all that came out was an "uh" sound. "Okay, small world I guess."

Haley chuckled. "Well if your boyfriend is here to meet his birth mother then the world is about to get smaller because my friend Brooke is here to meet her long lost son."

Lucas smiled, then frowned, then smiled again, but had no words.

"He's not my boyfriend, but he is here to meet his birth mother." Maya said.

Lucas frowned again.

Haley chuckled and grabbed Brooke pulling her forward. "This is her."

Lucas blinked, then he gulped and slipped his hand into Maya's hand.

She looked down at their hands, but he kept staring at the woman in front of him, so she gave his hand a squeeze to get him to say something to her.

He gulped again. "Mom?" Was all he could manage.

Brooke nodded. "Lucas Davis Friar?" She asked.

He nodded slowly.

Brooke gulped. "Then I am your mother, Brooke."

Lucas pulled Maya closer to him and she gulped.

Riley watched and frowned feeling left out. Farkle put his arm around her shoulders to make her smile, but it was very short lived.

"Nice to meet you." Lucas whispered out politely.

"You too. I'm sorry."

He shook his head. "Don't be. I have a great life, thank you." He said making her smile.

"You're welcome?"

"Can I just ask why?" He asked trying not to cry.

Maya noticed and rubbed his arm with her other hand. Riley kept frowning at the scene before her.

Brooke gulped and bit her lip. "Long story short, um, I hated being in a love triangle and I didn't want you to end up stuck in the middle of all the drama."

Maya scoffed and Lucas blew out a breath. At that moment Riley decided to walk up to him. Maya let him go and he put a hand on both girls beside him.

"Mom, these are, my girlfriends, Riley and Maya." Lucas told her awkwardly. "We're in a, uh, triangle." He told her.

Haley focused her attentioned on her younger cousin who looked like a mix of annoyance and sorrow.

Brooke looked from her son to the blonde and saw her pain then she looked to the brunette and saw how extremely uncomfortable she was, then she looked back at her son and saw a mix of guilt and anguish.

"Oh, um, that's nice." Brooke faked a smile.

Haley blinked and took Maya's hand. "Let's catch up, cousin." She said pulling Maya away from Lucas, he frowned.

Brooke noticed and took his free arm. "Mind if I borrow your boyfriend?" She asked Riley, already dragging him away from the brunette girl.

"No problem!" Riley responded cheerfully, then she walked back over to Farkle and Zay.

Maya was at one table and Lucas was at another, but every few seconds he would look over at her and Brooke saw the looks. The same looks his father once gave her that she loved before he only looked at Peyton that way. He loves her.

Brooke gave him a smile and he looked back at his birth mother. He smiled back and Brooke grinned.

"I'm not angry with you, but why isn't my father here? Does he know I even exist?" Lucas asked.

Brooke sighed and shook her head. "Not really, no."

Lucas frowned. "Is he with her? The other girl in your love triangle?"

Brooke gave him a sad smile and nodded. "Yeah, they went away together. Been together for about four or five years now, on and off, you know."

Lucas frowned. "Did he choose her or did you back off?" She gave him a pointed look. "I need to know, please mom, help."

Brooke sighed. "I backed off. I broke up with him and gave him to her."

Lucas swallowed hard. "Did you call him your brother or pretend that you never liked him?"

Brooke blinked. "I don't know what your situation is with these girls, but I just told him that I stopped missing him." She sighed. "Which was never true. I still miss him to this very day."

"So you lied to let them be together, why?"

Brooke sighed. "Because she was my best friend and she was never going to let him go, so I had to, or else we would be in that triangle forever and I didn't want that." She sighed again. "I wanted him to love just me and since he couldn't do that I walked away from it all."

"Maybe he loved you, but he didn't want to hurt her." Lucas frowned.

"In the end it all hurts just the same."
