Like The Phoenix

I've risen from the ashes

The ashes of your lies

And like the burning phoenix

Brand new I've come alive

A future now before me

From which I seek the truth

I've cast away my memories

Along with them is you

Don't tell me you are saddened

Don't you dare fell tears

I've kept my strength within myself

Through all those torturous years

You now break down before me

Begging for my time

Sometimes you can make me smile

But now you've made me rhyme

That is all you are to me

A strip of blackened ink

I don't care how that makes you feel

Nor not what you think

This poem will go in a book somewhere

In a box within an attic

Like all my other memories of you

Forgotten and pathetic
