Katsuki screamed at Izuku after school to meet at their dorm's rooftop. His stomach flipped and he was nervous since last night. Katsuki comforted him on his nightmare but the feeling of dread for him didn't stop, like if he looked away for just one second, he'll come back on that scene with Katsuki on his arms.
Izuku came on the roof and sees Katsuki standing in the middle, the wind messing up his spikes but Izuku stood there in awe. The way the sunset reflected his blond hair like a halo, the way the light rested on his sharp cheeks like he was God sent. His eyes that sparkled like rubies...like blood...
Izuku bit the inside of his cheek to stop himself from crying...he need to get that dream out of his mind...it was a dream..a nightmare...
"Kacchan, why did you call me here again?"
Katsuki looked confused. "Again? I never called your ass here before."
"No..." The words died on his lips. Izuku was confused. He remembered that day. Katsuki apologized and they became friends. Unless...that was a dream also...no way...I remember it so clearly...
"Fuck Deku, I'll know if I ever called you here!!"
Katsuki became furious but simmered down after he counted down numbers under his breath.
"Okay...nerd, no, Deku, I'm here to say I'm sorry." Katsuki looked away,a tint of red on his cheeks.
It was like deja vu for Izuku.
Fear came back on Izuku, like his own body was trying to flee away from something but didn't know what. The feeling of sweat on his back, his hair standing up behind his neck...he was on the verge of hyperventilating when Katsuki said the words he dreaded most.
"Let's be friends okay?" Katsuki asked, waiting for his reply.
The word YES wouldn't come out of Izuku's mouth, scared that it will lead down the same road where Katsuki dies. But he felt himself nod and Katsuki looked so relieved and happy that Izuku wanted to cry there and then. He thought he wouldn't see that smile again.
Then Katsuki asked to have dinner together.
Ah, a different situation.
The feeling of fear disappeared when Katsuki held his wrist towards a nearby restaurant. They didn't do this the last time so maybe this was just Izuku overthinking again.
It's not the same. Thank God. Kacchan won't die again.
Katsuki tugged him further to cross the street. The feeling of his warm hand reassured Izuku that Katsuki was really here. Alive.
But the moment Izuku wanted to hold Katsuki's hand he was suddenly pushed back by the shoulders, strong and fast enough to fall down on the pavement.
Izuku could only watch the horror as Katsuki was hit by a truck, flying meters away from Izuku. The screeching noise of the truck's tires, the screams from nearby civilians, and the weak coughs of Katsuki made Izuku shudder. The unknown fear was back again but he understood it now. This was just like how he felt when Katsuki saved him from that villain.
Kacchan saved me again. He'll die again.
When Izuku reached Katsuki's side, he held his hand and pulled him closer. His arms and legs twisted into horrifying angles, bleeding from head to toe.
"Kacchan! Kacchan!" It reminded him on the day the Katsuki died on his arms the first time. "Please don't die!"
Why are you doing this again?!!
Katsuki's eyes fluttered and looked at Izuku and forced a smile to him.
"Im...glad..we're...friends...again.." Katsuki whispered to Izuku before closing his eyes and became limp on Izuku's arms. Again.
Izuku could only remember screaming Katsuki's name until everything went black.
