5.

Izuku woke up on a bed, this time, he was in a hospital.

This is new.

He felt like shit. He's body was aching all over and it took some pain to pull his head up. Both his wrists were handcuffed to the hospital bed.

Shit. I failed again. How will Kacchan die this time?

A knock on the door snapped him from his thoughts. He closed his eyes to pretend he's sleeping, he'll cry if it was his mother. He must be so disappointed in him right now. Or scared out of her wits. He did have a suicide attempt, though it turned extreme because of Kacchan.

The footsteps came closer and hovered near his bed. Izuku wants to know who it was at least.

It was a horrible decision since the moment Izuku took a peak, a fist ran through his face.

"Oow!", Izuku winced, since both his hands are cuffed, he couldn't defend himself.

"Don't pretend to sleep, you dimwit." Katsuki said as he walked over to an empty seat beside the bed.

He looked subdued? Well, after the events, Izuku can't blame him. But he really didn't want him here knowing he failed again. Will Kacchan die on my arms again?

"I'm sorry, Kacchan." I failed again.

"Save it!" Kacchan clicked his tongue. "I knew something was wrong with you so you're telling me everything."

Izuku tightened his lips in a thin line. He doesn't want to. He doesn't want to tell him. If he did, he'll relive it all over again.

Izuku tested the hand cuffs, pulling it. Maybe he can run away?

"You were injected with a quirk-stabilizer, you won't be able to use your quirk anytime soon." Katsuki added.

Izuku sighed in defeat. He really can't win when it comes to Kacchan.

"Kacchan..." The name on his lips continue to hurt him. "I can't say anything."

"What do you mean you can't?!!! You fucking overdosed at school, I had to stick a finger down your throat so you wouldn't die!!!" Katsuki raised his voice, he whipped his hands around him as tears build up on his face. "I thought I was going to lose you."

Izuku looked away, staring at his own hands instead.

"I'm sorry." Izuku just couldn't say anything else.

"What did you mean by saving me?" Katsuki continued.

Izuku stayed silent.

Please leave, Kacchan. You don't need to know.

"Why...Izuku..." Katsuki was crying, putting his hands over his face, trying to hide it.

Izuku's heart breaks again.

After minutes of silence, Izuku breaks it with a sigh.

"Kacchan, you'll think I'm crazy but you have to listen. It's been quite a hell for me but you have to listen. This is the first time I'll be explaining this to you even after multiple loops."

Katsuki's raised a brow on the term loop but continued to listen.

So Izuku said everything. From the first time Katsuki died to the time he jumped off the roof. Katsuki was silent, listened to him intently and Izuku appreciated that. It took a couple of tears to tell him everything but Izuku got through with it.

After Izuku finished, Katsuki was quiet, taking all the information in. His expression was in deep thought and Izuku waited for him patiently. He understands it will take a while to get his head around it.

"So, how will you know that it's all over?" Katsuki suddenly said.

"You believe me?" Izuku asked, bewildered that anyone would believe his story.

"I fucking know you, you'll never do something that stupid without a reason." Katsuki explained, as if that was enough reason for him to accept everything Izuku said.

Izuku just nodded in agreement. Tears were welling up. He knew Katsuki isn't safe yet but got a great load off his chest. The first time he told someone and Katsuki believed him.

"So, how will you know that it's all over?", Katsuki asked again.

"It's just a feeling." Izuku explained. "Like i feel something heavy on the back of my mind. I can't explain it well."

"Do you still feel it?"

Izuku nodded, looking grim.

"Fuck." A normal reaction when someone told you you'll die.

"I'm sorry." Izuku can't help but apologise. He failed to save him. How can he be a hero if he can't save his friend?

"I said save it! I got the easy part compared to you." Katsuki stood up from his chair and paced around the bed.

"You, dying, is easy?" Izuku felt sick.

"You get to see me die again and again. Failing to save someone you care about." Katsuki looked at Izuku. "That's what I felt when I saw you trying to kill yourself in front of me."

"I can imagine going crazy if you died on me even once." Katsuki continued.

" But I had to do it..." Izuku whispered to him.

"You don't know it would work." Katsuki becoming irritated.

"You never know until you try." Izuku smiled at him.

"I DON'T WANT YOU TO DIE!!!" Katsuki shouted, sounding vulnerable. "Deku...all those loops, I always die getting worried for you, protecting you...because I--!!"

"Shut up!" Izuku covered his ears. "Don't say anything anymore! Because we're friends! You always say that! And then you die, Kacchan!! Please, dont say it."

Katsuki stopped. He held a hand on Izuku's shoulder and sadly smiled at him.

"Not only as a friend."

Huh?

"I'm going to go out for a while, I'll come back soon. Don't do anything, shitty Deku. Promise me."

Katsuki walked out the door, leaving him alone. Izuku did what he said, he didn't do anything, just like he promised.

But, Katsuki broke his.

He didn't come back like he said he would.

Izuku could only stare at the window with a blank expression when his mother suddenly came crying, explaining that Katsuki got stabbed by a villain as he was coming back to the hospital buying ice cream for him.

Izuku just closed his eyes, waiting for the world to turn black.
