A Night [In Just One Night So Much Can Change]

Chapter 17

"I was bored so I went to the club for something to do." He says

"How'd you get in? Fake ID." I ask

"Yes and I don't recommend doing it. But I'm guessing that you used a fake ID to." He says

"You guess right." I say

He laughs. Honestly his laugh made me smile a little bit. Not many things make me smile anymore but being everyone I'm around now is making me smile a whole lot more.

"So why did you even bring me to Los Angeles in the first place?" I ask

"Well because you reminded me a lot of Corbyn and normally you don't see a sixteen year old in a club by herself looking sad." He says

"How'd you know I was sixteen and not some 40 year old? And maybe I wasn't sad." I ask

"Trust me I know that you're sixteen. You just look around that age. And you were obviously sad, you had tear stains on your cheeks." He says

"Whatever you say." I say

"Whatever I say." He says smiling

Zach's POV

When she asked me why I was in the club, I panicked a little bit. The real why I was in there she can't know. I actually followed her there. And if she knew that she might think I was an absolute creep, and that would completely ruin everything. So I had to lie to her and tell her tat I was bored and wanted something to do for the night. There was a bit of truth in that lie. I was bored and wanted something to do so I followed her into the club. She looked beautiful that night and I just wanted to be her friend. And the truth was she did remind me of Corbyn. They just looked so similar so that's why I brought her to L.A.

Clary's POV

Zach had drifted off into his own little or big world of thoughts. He got a certain look on him when he was in deep thought. And this was one of those times. I decided in that moment that I wanted to talk ti Christina and get to know her a little bit.

"Zach." I say snapping him out of his thoughts

"Yeah?" He asks

"Can you get Christina for me. I want to talk to her." I say

"On it." He says

And with that Zach was gone to get Christina. While I waited for Christina, I just laid in the bed peacefully. Staring off in space. I got little glimpses of my past. Nothing was to clear. I could see flames and hear screaming and crying. Tears started to slowly run down my face. My eyes become blurry from the tears and I don't even realize Christina is sitting right in front of me.

"Hey. Everything's going to be alright in the end." She says

"Is it really?" I ask

"Remember everything happens for a reason Clary." She says

"Then what is the reason?" I ask

"You had a rough start in life and now everything is going to work out smoothly." She says

"Can you promise me that?" I ask

"I can but, not everything will work out. Only a few things won't." She says

"As long as I can have a bit of happiness." I say

"You deserve a humungous amount." She says

She wipes away the tears from my cheeks and inlaces our pinky. Signifying her promise to me. She then pulls me in for a hug. We just sit there hugging for a while until we get interrupted by a nurse knocking on the door. We break away from the hug and both look towards the door.

"Sorry to interrupt." The nurse says

"No it's alright. I'll get going." Christina says

"Bye Christina." I says

"Bye Clary." She says

As Christina walks out the door the nurse closes it behind her. She walks closer towards my bed but stops at a certain point so we're in a comfortable talking position. She looks at her charts before she begins to start speaking.

"So I just had a brief look at your charts that time and I feel like I should give you a basic run down of it." She says

"Okay, go for it." I say
