I'm not someone who usually puts songs in the chapter but this song I had on repeat while writing a good portion of this chapter so if you're interested take a listen to it.

[Name]'s POV

"YOU'RE SO COOL [NAME]!"

"AND PRETTY!"

"WIN AT NATIONALS [NAME]!"

I blush as all the guys in my class surround me spewing compliments. "Thank you, you guys are very sweet," I chuckle and they blush profusely. I smile slightly when two people grab my arms and pull me away from the group of fanboys. "Makoto, Haru, are you two jealous~" I tease them while they grumble under their breaths with a gloomy aura. "Awe cheer up you two, if it makes you feel better I don't like them in that way," I tell the guys who seem to relax at that statement. "Now come on we have practice," I giggle while jogging off to the pool.

"[Name], put more effort in while you swim," Coach Sasabe tells me and I groan. "But I'm so tired. I barely got any sleep last night because I was in a group conversation and they kept adding me back in," I grumble while mentally cursing Nix and Kai. "You want to win at nationals, don't you?" he asks and I mutter a yes. "Then you better swim," he tells me and I grumble before pushing off the wall and swimming butterfly down the pool. 'Effort...I hate that word' I frown while swimming my laps.

~

"Uggggghhhhh I'm going to make sure I get sleep if Coach wants me to swim like that everyday," I groan while the others sweatdrop. "Nix and Kai keep you up?" Rei asks me and I nod my head. "Group conversation and they couldn't seem to fathom the idea of me not in it so every time I left the convo they'd add me right back in," I toss my head back with a loud groan. "Go home and get rest [Name]," Makoto tells me and I turn my body and lay across the guys laps. "I'm too tired to move," I whine until I'm lifted up by someone's arms. "You can spend the night at my place," Rei sighs but chuckles slightly.

"Mmmm your bed is comfy so I'm good with that," I curl up in his chest while he receives murderous glares from Makoto, Nagisa, and Haru. "We'll see you all tomorrow," he says quickly before carrying me off to his house. "You can be very helpless sometimes [Name]," Rei sighs while walking down the street. "Only because I'm lazy," I mumble and he sweatdrops. "I've never met such a lazy athlete in my entire life," he mutters and I giggle. "Swimming takes a lot out of me," I tell him and he looks down at me softly. "I can tell," the blue-haired male chuckles while adjusting me in his arms so he can open the door.

He pushes open the door with his foot before carrying me inside and laying me down on his bed. "You can get a shower in the morning, but for now get some sleep," he tells me with a soft smile while covering me with a blanket. "Thanks Rei," I whisper while closing my eyes. "Anytime [Name]..." he tells me and before I fall asleep I feel his lips on my forehead, departing a second later.

~time skip~

"[N/N], you here?!" I hear Nagisa calling from downstairs. "That's right I gave them keys to the house," I facepalm while sliding off the couch and landing on my back. "[Name]?" Makoto peaks his head in my room and eyes me. "Hello Mako," I smile while waving at him. "Come on, we're going to see the fireworks," he helps me off the ground. "That sounds nice," I hum while meeting the other three guys downstairs. "Hey you guys," I smile while grabbing my keys from the entryway table. "[Name]," Rei smiles and we walk outside and down to the beach.

"Wow this looks beautiful," I smile while seeing multiple lanterns lit up and floating in the water. "Hey Haru..." Nagisa starts and from his tone of voice I know what he wants to talk about. "What?" The stoic male asks and the blonde looks at him. "Before we swim at nationals there's something we want to say. Because I get the feeling that we won't really be a team unless we do," Nagisa tells him when Rei walks over. "Haru, both Nagisa and I have admired your swimming for a long time. The way you swim freely and unbound by anything is inspiring and I wish I could swim that way myself. But now you don't swim freestyle anymore, and your swimming just isn't like you anymore. We want you to swim in front of many people and move them the way you move us, I couldn't imagine anything more wonderful," Rei tells him and Haru scoffs before walking off.
