Kidnapped

♠ 18 - Flashback ♠

•Avianna's POV•

"Avi!" I heard Selena's voice called. I groaned and turned on my back. I blinked my eyes opened and saw a bright light, I shut my eyes at the light and let out a weary groan.

"Hey, you might wanna open your eyes, Lydia won." I snapped my eyes open as I heard that name. I slowly got to my feet and realized we were in a cell, the walls were replaced with glass so we could see who was on the other side. A blonde lady with few wrinkles, a pointed nose and evil smirk observed me and Selena. Lydia, also known as my mother, standing next to her was a familiar face.

"Xander?"  His name escaped my lips and I was beyond shocked.

"Don't be too shocked, Avi. Why else would he tolerate?" Lydia laughed. "C'mon boys, let's give Avi a little time to process everything."

With that she and her minions left the room, Xander stayed back for a while and gave me one last look before he left too.

"That bastard!" I yelled after him.

"Don't waste your breath." Selena advised me, I shook my head and took a seat on cold, concrete floor since there won't any chairs or table inside the cell.

Wait, I remember everything?

What does this mean?

Selena joined me on the floor and rested her hand on my lap.

"Remember everything?" She asked with a smile.

"How? Didn't they strip our memories?" I asked her.

"Looks like Lydia injected us with the antidote." Selena said.

FLASHBACK

I was just five years old when I had found out that both my mom and dad were leaders of two of the strongest gangs in the country. I was playing with a childhood friend when a man came and scooped up the two of us and took us into a van. I was terrified, he tied our hands and legs and gagged us. My friend and I began to cry, that's when I heard a gunshot and the van's brakes screeched against the road and came to a halt. The man took out his gun and then bullets were fired at the van, they came in from the windshield. My friend and I were safe, but the man was dead. The back door was swung open and I saw my mom and dad, they untied the both of us and we went home.

At home, my parents and I sat down and they explained everything to me. I may have been five years old, but I understood perfectly. From that moment on, my parents trained me and  I was one of the best in the gang, of course, my parents didn't send me out on any missions since I was their little girl and they didn't want anything to happen to me.

Everything was great, until I was sixteen. I was training when I heard  my mom's curses. I immediately stopped my training and ran in the direction I heard my mom's voice. My dad, mom, an unknown man and the entire gang was present in the living room of the gang house. My mom and the unknown man held hands and my dad was opposite them looking pissed. I hid behind the wall, eavesdropping on their conversation.

"I want the code Alexander!" My mom ordered my dad. I noticed my dad had his hands clenched into fists.

"Never, I want you and your boyfriend out of this house and out of my life forever." My dad told my mom. It wasn't until then that I realized my mom had been cheating on my dad, and the unknown man was her boyfriend.

"I have as much right to take that code with me. Don't forget Alexander, it was my men who received the computer for the agency." My mom reminded my dad and pointed her finger in his face.

I had no idea what code they were talking about.

"Yes, but it was my hackers who got the code, so I believe that the code is mine and that you should leave. If you don't want to leave, I'm sure my men will have no problem escorting you out." My dad smirked.

"Fine," My mom admitted defeat. "but remember this Alexander, you have a very powerful enemy."

My mom glared at my dad and turned towards her boyfriend, they both then began walking towards the door. I don't know what came over me, but I jumped put from behind the wall.

"WAIT!" I yelled, everyone turned their heads to me.

"Avi?" My mom called. I approached her with clenched fists, she mistook this and thought I was gonna hug her, but I stopped two feet in front of her.

"I HATE YOU!" I yelled. Her eyes widened as she became shocked. She turned to my dad.

"You've caused my own daughter to hate me!" She cried to my dad, tears falling from her eyes. "I will have my revenge, Alexander, just wait and watch!"

She then grabbed her boyfriend's hand and they both walked towards the door and slammed the door shut. My dad sighed and grabbed my hand, he led me to the basement of the gang house and hooked me up to a strange machine. A few moments later, my childhood friend/ cousin also entered the room, accompanied by her father and she was also hooked up to the machine.

"Dad? What's going on?" I asked him, trembling in fright.

"Don't worry, nothing bad is gonna happen." He assured me. "You heard yourself what your mother said, I don't want you or Selena to get between our feud, your mother is vicious and she'll hurt anyone. I don't want her to hurt you two, that's why we've decided to strip you two of your memories, you'll only remember your name, age and the basic but won't remember ever being part of a gang."

"You can do that?" I asked in amazement.

"Yes, the gang has made this machine, 'The Memory Manipulator', it erases, adds, or even manipulates memories."

"But dad," I sobbed. "I love being part of the gang." He rested his hand on my shoulder.

"I know you do, but we have to do this in order to keep you safe."

"Will our memories ever come back?" I asked him.

"Of course it will, there's an antidote." He assured me.

"Okay, I'm ready." I announced. My dad smiled.

"That's my girl." Two men placed a metal bowl over my head and I heard the machine start up. My vision became blurred but I knew there were people around me. A sharp pain occurred inside my head and I felt as if there was a thick fog in my mind.

So now you have to think, 'Why are Xander and Lydia working together?' Think about it.
