Michael and Calum stepped passed Luke's front door and entered his home. They had been outside Luke's house plenty of times before but they never actually went in. When you first walked in you were in the lounge room that had a kitchen opposite. It was a very big area with no walls separating the two, the floor was tiled with soft rugs.

"I like your house." Calum complemented.

Before Luke could reply his mum was appearing from the hallway with a smile on her face. She had quickly changed and put some light makeup on, wanting to make a good first impression.

"Hello boys! You must be Michael and Calum. Luke didn't tell me you were so good looking!" She exclaimed as she ushered them all to the couch.

"It's nice to meet you, Mrs Hemmings," Michael said once they had all been seated.

"Please, call me Liz. I don't go by Hemmings anymore."

The boys didn't question that, Ashton had filled them in on Luke's behalf about his father. Michael felt like a bit of an idiot for addressing her that way but pretended that it never happened. They all spoke for a while, Luke was quick to end the conversations when Liz started suggesting she got out Luke's baby photo album. They boys and Liz exchanged goodbyes before the headed off.

"We should have stayed a little longer. I wanted to see baby Luke!" Calum pouted once they were all settled in the car.

"Me too." Michael laughed.

"God no, please give me mercyyyy." Luke whined from the back seat.

They drove to Calum's house first because it was closer than Michael's. Luke had met Mrs Hood previously but he had not been introduced as Calum's soulmate. Luke had never Mr Hood though. He also didn't even know Calum had a sister until recently. To be fair she's off at university and is away a lot.

The boys arrived at Calum's house and entered to be hit with a strong scent of nail polish remover.

"Ugh, it stinks in here!" Calum exclaimed looking around.

His mum was sitting on the couch drinking from a mug with a stern look on her face while a girl Luke did not recognise was kneeling on the lounge room carpet, scrubbing vigorously.

"Yeah it does, doesn't it? Mali, would you like to explain?" his mother replied, taking another sip from her coffee while staring down at the girl on the floor. She had stopped scrubbing and had an embarrassed look on her face.

"I may have spilt a whole bottle of nail polish into mum's new carpet..." she admitted.

"good job sis," Calum said sarcastically.

"Shut up! You are no better. You kicked a soccer ball and shattered the light as well as the window!" she retaliated.

"I was ten!"

"It still happened!"

"Stop bickering!" Mrs Hood snapped. Sending the whole room silent.

"We have guests. You two should know how to get along by now." She added.

"We do get along mum. We were just having some banter, no biggy." Calum apologised.

Mrs Hood rolled her eyes at that, turning her attention to Luke and Michael who had just stood there watching the scene in front of them unfold.

"Hello, boys." She greeted

They said hello back, the two were pretty familiar with Mrs Hood. They hung out at Calum's house whenever they weren't at Ashton's.
