"I have a serious question."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There it goes. Once a word is said it's hard to keep it from circling your mind. One word shaped our Society but it also tears it apart. Questions. A strong word. A powerful word. The only thing more powerful than a question is it's answer. Questions save life's but they also make them...end. You could ask the wrong question to the wrong person and you would be gone forever. Questions make you curious. They make you want to know more than you should. They make you scared for the answer. Questions are good. But they come at you like a lion hunting for pray and once to hit they don't stop. They chew you up and spit you out when they're done. They make answers come and they won't rest without one. Nothing can stop a question but nothing can stop the answer either. Questions make us express ourself but they also make a wall for feelings to stop. When we were kids questions were sample "what do you want for dinner?" "why won't you take a nap?" "what's the homework?"but now they dig into your skin. They make you want to pull your hair out. But I don't know maybe questions are just a way of warning us of what is to come.I snap back into reality as the words he just said circle my mind. I squinted my eyes in confusion.
"o-ok" I stuttered over my words.
Maya tilted her head and mouthed to me the words "what is going on?"
I shrugged and waited for him to ask whatever he needed.
He finally spoke his breath heavy "Will you go out with me?"
"W-what?! Please repeat that I don't think I heard you right..." I stuttered once again blushing.
He asked it again but more serious."Will you go out with me?"
"Is this a joke? Are you pranking me? Because it's not funny! Don't play with my emotions!" I said. Making Maya grin the biggest grin I had seen her make. I shook my head and looked down waiting again for him to answer.
"Do you need to see me for you to know I'm serious? Look, I really really really like you!" He said. I remembered our conversation at his house when I had just walked in.
"Why do you do this to me?" I whined.
he shrugs "can't a guy want friends?"
"Yes but your just creepy..." I laughed.
"Well what can I say... your cute..." he says way to overconfident.
"Your 100% serious?" I asked biting my lip.
He said his breath heavy and strong ,"yes"
"Then...." I said. I bit my lip and came to a conclusion. He was sweet and I loved him as a friend. So why not? I knew he was a good guy. Plus what did I have to lose. I spoke my voice eased and I smiled into the phone as I spoke "Yes."
"You don't know how happy I am right now!" He said. I could picture his perfect smile on the other side of the phone.
I spoke truthfully "trust me I do"
I did. I didn't realize it but I had feelings for him. The first in a while.
I smiled and we hung up the phone and I looked at Maya who was smirking. The smirk soon turned into a smile. The smile turned into words. "Sooooo what's up?"
"Well lets just say I'm no longer single."
She smiled. "Told ya so!"
I crossed my arms "fine you were right!"
Emily chimed in "OH MY FREAKING GOD YOUR DATING JACKSON!"
"Shut up" I blushed.
More questions came out of the mouth of the two girls. I sat and listened as they circled my mind
"So, when's your first date?"
"Can we go see him now?"
"Didn't I tell you he would?"
Until that one final question came. The question that turned everything around.
"Do you love him?"Questions.
