New home. New school. New dad. New brother. New friends. New life. I wasn't ready for this, my dad had passed away when I was 5 and my mom had met another guy. They had been dating since I was 10. Now I was 15 almost 16 and they had just got married. My mom didn't ever really care what we did. My biological brothers name was Alexander but he ran away when I turned 12. He was 10 when he ran away. I haven't seen him in person since then. I do talk to him secretly on FaceTime and text though. I secretly miss him even though when he was here all we would do was fight. Now we were in the car on our way to our new house. It's crazy to think I'm leaving all my 8th grade friends behind for this. Ugh I wanted to punch something when I found out. This sucks.
"Earth to Jackson!" Lucas yelled waving his hand in front of me.
"Huh? Did you say my name?" I asked.
My mom looked in the mirror and laughed out "Yes like 10 million times!"
I smiled and looked at Lucas,"sorry what did you need to say?"
"Who are you texting?" Lucas said."You keep looking down at the phone and smiling like crazy!"
"A friend" I shrugged trying to hide the fact that I was texting my run away brother.
He shrugged and looked down at his phone.
I looked down at my phone.
Me (Jackson)- when are you going to tell me where you are?
Alex- the time will come I don't want mom finding me right now.
Me-you've been gone for 3 YEARS!!! She misses you and the cops are still looking for you! How far did you get?!
Alex-pretty far you don't know what I'm capable of big bro
Me-well you've been gone for a long time so I'm guessing you got far.
Alex-yep
Me-well mom is making me unpack the car because we are moving into the new house.
Alex-k talk to ya later
Me-ok byeAfter I got off the phone I got a box out of the car. I looked around to get a thought of what this year would be like. I locked eyes with a beautiful girl. Her hair ombré brown. She looked at her friend and laughed. Her smile was the most beautiful smile ever. My mom yelled for me to hurry up because she had to go so I looked away and brought the box inside. I got all unpacked. Or at least I dumped all the boxes out...and folded my clothes then stuffed them in my dresser...well at least I put my bed together and put my stuff in the right place.
After about an hour I finished my room. All I could do was think about the girl. I got on my phone and got on Instagram and to my surprise hers was the first one that came up. Her name was Alana Fain she was 15 and going into 9th grade. Just like me. Maybe I have a chance. You know what what am I kidding I'm nothing special.
