The journey

I get to the treehouse and climb up. I'm still crying my eyes out and it's almost dark but at this point I don't care. The love of my life cheated on me. How could he do that? I still had so many questions that needed to be answered.

I turn off the location on my phone to make sure they don't know where I am. The only part I'm worried about is Jackson. What if he comes here? Just then I hear a noise and I turn the light to the treehouse off and look outside the window. At this point it is night. Not a star in the sky to light the world up. I could barely see but as I was about to go lay down, because I thought it was a squirrel or raccoon or something, when a light brought my attention. I looked over to where the light source was and I saw at the stairs to make your way up the treehouse was a person with a phone. I quickly realized that this person was Jackson. He must've come here to either look for me or think. I quickly but carefully climb out the window and onto a branch. I slowly make my way to the backside of the treehouse. There was a small window in the back but it was not enough to see where I was. I leaned my back against the treehouse while sitting on a huge branch with my legs to my chest. I put my ear against the wall so I could hear what was going on.

"Alana? Are you here? Alana...please...I need to talk to you..." his voice was shaking. I wanted to say something or go give him a hug but I snapped out of it.

"Okay...I know you're here...you wouldn't be anywhere else...but I'll respect that you don't want to talk...I love you..." and with that he left.

After a few minutes I climbed back around the tree. I looked in the window to make sure he was gone and after my inspection I went in. I grabbed one of the book bags we had lying around the treehouse and stuffed it with, money we had saved in a jar just in case, a LOT of coke, and a few boxes of honey buns. I grabbed my two bags and made a run for it. I called an Uber on my phone and 20 minutes later they pulled up. It was a young male. Maybe 16 going on 17.

"Where to?" He said looking at me. "You are very beautiful by the way."

"Thank you." I replied. "And how much will it take to get to Orlando?"

"Well I only charge 1 dollar per mile so...it'll probably be a thousand or so."

"Ummm...ok...can you get me to Pensacola?"

"Yes ma'am" he said and we drove on.

We had small talks along the way but soon enough I feel asleep.

I wake up to someone shaking me lightly. I open my eyes and notice the Uber driver shaking me. I sat up and he spoke, "we are here...if you need me to take you further I can... I can bring you to Orlando."

"No, it's ok. I don't have the money." I replied.

"No no I insist! I'll only charge you 100 dollars, how about that?" He smiled.

"That is so generous of you thank you!" I said nodding my head.

He got back in the car and replied "No don't thank me! It's just a nice thing to do. Now you rest up. We have a long drive."

I nodded and fell back asleep.

I wake up about 2 hours later. I sit up and rub my eyes.

"How much longer?" I yawned.

He looked back in alert, "oh god! You scared me!"

"Sorry..." I gave a small smile.

"It's okay...anyway we have about an hour or two..."

I widened my eyes. "How long have I been sleeping?"
