Robin woke up at 6, ready to start the day. He did promise he would wait as long as he could before leaving home, but Travis was busy sleeping off all the alcohol he drank the night before. Travis wouldn't be waking up for a while, at least not before Robin absolutely had to leave. Robin got dressed, ate breakfast, put away his dishes and Travis's many cups from last night, and was off to work. His apartment in New York was only a few blocks away from the set, so he decided to walk, seeing as he had so much extra time. About halfway there a car pulled up beside him. He was tense at first and a little scared, because well this is New York, but he peeked inside to see Cory's unmistakable smile and immediately relaxed. "Wanna ride?" he asked. "Sure!" Robin replied and he jumped in. "How are you?" Cory asked as he started the car. "Good thanks" Robin replied, Cory knew he was lying. "Well do you want to practice our lines? We are shooting a scene in Arkham today." "Sure, I know all of them but I'm a little unsure about the ones after Edward opens the box." "Well, we will start there," Cory said with a smile.
"Why are you being so kind?" "Talking to you these past months, I don't know how I would have gotten by otherwise, Fish out there planning who knows what, me being surrounded by morons and lunatics" " I know the feeling" "Why didn't she kill me when she had the chance, I was powerless, she must have a larger goal I-I-I need to know what she is doing." "Do you? When Alexander encountered the Gordian knot, a knot so complex no one had ever been able to untangle it, he just removed his sword and cut it in two, details can be distracting, sometimes a simple solution is best, so no matter what she is planning just remember, Penguins Eat Fish."
Thanks to there little rehearsal in the car the table read was a breeze and it only took them 2 takes to get what was needed for that scene. With the spare time they had for their break, they decided to go get lunch together. Cory drove again so Robin got to play with the radio station. After scrolling through the channels for what seemed like hours, he stopped as soon as he heard "I wanna really really really wanna zigazig ah". Cory looked at Robin, even though he didn't say anything his eyes and face said: "are you kidding me?". Robin didn't care, he was already dancing as much as he could in a car seat with a seatbelt on. By the second chorus, Robin was singing along too, he pointed to Cory to take it away but he said nothing. Just after the second chorus ended Robin was shocked to hear Cory belt "If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends" he pointed to Robin who responded, "Make it last forever, friendship never e-ends". Then back to Cory "If you wanna be my lover." Robin's turn, "You have got to give." Then they both yelled, "Taking is too easy, but that's the way it is!" They both sang and danced for the rest of the song.
Once the song ended they arrived at a quaint little diner called "The Little Owl". Cory and Robin both got club sandwiches, Robins with extra lettuce, and for drinks Cory got Sprite and Robin got Pepsi. "How do you like that? It's so boring!" Cory said disgusted at his choice of beverage. "It is not boring, it's sweet and cold and delicious, like me!" "Haha, you wish Penguin!" Robin rolled his eyes and replied, "Know-it-all". They both were laughing so hard at their stupid jokes and insults, that they didn't even notice that their waiter had arrived with their drinks. Once they had started eating their sandwiches, Robin realized that he ordered too much extra lettuce, it was already starting to fall out and he hadn't even started trying to eat it yet! Cory noticed and was going to say something but he decided he would rather watch the upcoming events than spoil it now. Robin picked up the sandwich and took a bite, a piece of lettuce, unfortunately with mayo on it, fell into his lap. "Damn it!". "Oh come on, it's not that bad." Cory said comfortingly. "Not that bad? It looks like someone came on my pants!" Cory was crying laughing, now that he thought about it, he was right, that's exactly what it looked like. Robin wasn't laughing, so he decided to throw some mayo lettuce at Cory's face. Cory stopped laughing, but Robin couldn't stop. They both paused to look at each other and both continued laughing. After probably a solid minute or two they cleaned up and continued to eat their lunch. They had just gotten up to leave when Robin noticed and bit of mayo still in Cory's hair. He moved closer and stood on his tip-toes so he could reach and pulled it out of his hair. They both stood there just looking at each other until Robin said "Don't I get a thank you? I just saved you from so much potential humiliation." "No, you don't get a thank you because if it weren't for you there never would have been any mayo in my hair!" Cory laughed in response. They headed out back to Cory's car to go back to the set. But what the didn't notice was a few tables down were some fans of Gotham, they saw all that had happened and even got a few pictures.
