Chapter 3: Returning and Going

Reef's P.O.V.

I jumped in the water. I was going to take a swim then head to Bruce's home so I can sleep in his pool. I looked around. I really missed the pod and my friends. It has been a cruel one month since I left them. But they are going to help me. We can get rid of Jack heh heh heh, and get the pod back. I looked at my moon ring. That is the only thing why I am still here. I'm glad that I am going back to the guys, but I still feel different. I'm not like my old self. I just bottled my emotions inside so people didn't have to worry about me. The only person who was in the pod that have ever seen me cry, was Blue. Over the past month, all my friends seen me cry. Wow, I'm a mess. I swam around. This is all Jack's fault. If he never came to Mako, none of this would've happened. At least we have some new friends. There is Cassie, and from what Riley told me, that they told Cassie about our secret. I can trust her though. I swam to Bruce's pool. I surfaced and I saw Riley leaning against the ledge.

"Hey Riley." I told him.

"Hey Reef. Ready to give the guys a heart attack tomorrow?" Riley asked while smirking. I nodded.

"Well, I'm going to sleep. Goodnight." I told Riley.

"Night." Riley replied.

The next day arrived. We were sitting in the living room.

"I'm nervous Riley." I told him. He sat there watching tv.

"Don't worry, everything will be fine." Riley reassured me. I sighed. Then we heard talking. The voices belonged to Blue, Kahuna, and Bruce. Here goes nothing. Riley stood up and walked to them.

"Hey guys." Riley said to them. They said hi back to him.

"I have a surprise for you." Riley said.

"We really don't want a surprise." Kahuna said.

"It is about Reef." Riley said while raising his voice.

"Reef isn't coming back." Blue said sadly.

"Are you sure?" Riley asked. Blue stared at him.

"Yes I'm sure! When Reef sits his mind to something, he never backs out! He is stubborn and hot headed! I know he isn't coming back because he said so! I know Reef, and I know if runs away, he runs away and never come back!" Blue shouted. That hurt. It hurt a lot.

"He could've came back!" Riley shot back. Kahuna stepped up.

"Riley, as much as we would like for Reef to come back, but let's face reality, he isn't coming back." Kahuna said.

"You don't know that!" Riley yelled.

"Riley, just give it up! Reef isn't coming back. He made that pretty obvious. So, just let it go!" Blue shouted.

"Why won't you realize that your best friend might be alive?!" Riley shouted while throwing his arms in the air.

"Because Reef is horrible living on his own! He doesn't know how to take care of himself! He is hopeless! He is probably not even alive! So...LET IT GO!!!!!" Blue shouted at the top of the lungs. Riley smacked him.

"This is why I hate mermans! You give up too easily!" Riley shouted.

"It's not my fault that my best friend left me by myself alone!! It's also not my fault that he made me lose my trust with him!! He just broke our promise!! He could've talked to me! But NOOO!!!! He just ran away not even saying a proper goodbye!! It's not my fault I lost hope in a person who I thought was my best friend!! And your the one to talk! You gave up on your own kind just because they didn't want you!! Reef known me for years and he just ran off hurting me a lot inside! I can't even trust him anymore! I don't even want to look at him!!! I hate Reef!!! And I want to forget about him!!!" Blue yelled. That struck a nerve for me. He hates me. I felt tears running down my face. I had just lost my best friend since the very beginning. I was breathing very heavily. I was practically having a meltdown. My legs gave out. I fell on the ground. I was breaking down. My friends don't even like me anymore.

"What was that?" Bruce asked. Riley was mad. I think he might be my only friend who hadn't given up. I don't want to leave, but there are people who hated my guts. I can't stay here anymore. I stood up but stumbled. I was crying even more. I walked out. Everyone gasped.

"Don't worry, I'll get out of your life. I thought you were my friend! And now, you can't even stand the sight of me!" I sobbed. I ran toward the door. But I crashed into the door.

"Reef! Don't go." Bruce called.

"Reef, why did you leave in the first place?" Blue asked giving me a stare that could kill.

"I have problems. Problems and emotions that I can't control!" I shouted at Blue. Then everything started to become blurry again. The walls are closing in. I was hysterical. I am also hyperventilating. I had to get out.

"I thought you were my friends! But NO! You are a selfish rude, harsh, horrible prince of a pod and I hope you rot in hell! You no good for nothing bastard!!" I shouted at the top of my lungs. My voice is raspy. I ran out after my little fit. I heard names calling after me, but I continued to run. I ran into the juice bar for some apparent reason. Cassie saw me. She ran towards me and pulled me into a hug. I cried in her arms.

"Shhhh, Reef, calm down." She whispered. I tried, but I cried even more. She started to rub my back. I started to calm down a bit.

"Reef, what happened?" Cassie asked.

"Blue h-hates m-me." I said while crying. I continued to sob violently.

"Well, I don't hate you if that's make you feel better." Cassie said. She was always caring.

"Thanks." I said. She helped me up. My legs still felt like they are gonna give out. I felt very light headed. I fell. I heard people gasp. Cassie and another girl ran up to me. I continued to cry.

"Hey, are you alright?" the mysterious girl asked me. I nodded. I ran out the juice bar. I started to run through the beach. I saw Jack talking to some other guy. I walked up to Jack.

"Hey Jack, there is someone who is upset, I guess they need your fabulous counseling." the guy said to Jack while laughing. I pushed him out of the way.

"Hey, are you okay?" Jack asked. I slapped him. The side of his face turned red.

"What was that for?!" Jack said while shouting.

"You ruined my whole entire life!! You took all my friends away!! You even took away my family by falling into that pool on the full moon! If you never came to Mako, none of this mess would've happened! You also ruined my head!! You are the main reason for my stupid depression!!" I shouted at him. I had tear stains and was still currently crying.

"How did I ruin your life?! I don't even know you!" Jack shouted.

"Take a good look into my eyes." I said through my teeth.

"I remember you, you were at my birthday party. And you saw my tail." Jack said. He saw my moon ring. He took it off my finger.

"GIVE IT BACK THIS INSTANT!!!!!!!!" I shouted.

"WHY?!?!?!"

"BECAUSE THAT IS THE ONLY PIECE OF FAMILY AND BLUE I HAVE LEFT THANKS TO YOU!!!!!" I yelled. He shoved the ring in his pocket.

"I'm sorry, but I need a gift for Heather. It's not manly." Jack said. I started to cry again. I lost the thing that connects me to the pod. My vision started becoming blurry. I was hyperventilating. I was light headed. I felt very faint. Then my legs gave out and my vision went black.
