Chapter 6: What?, and Loads of Blood

Reef's P.O.V.

Beep.....Beep......Beep.....

I woke to the beeping right next to me. I looked around. The rooms were white. It was kinda scary. I saw Bruce standing next to my bed.

"How are you feeling?" Bruce asked. I sat up. I saw that I was hooked up to an air machine. What?

"Why am I *cough* hooked up to *cough* an air machine?" I asked. I noticed that my voice was kinda raspy. I was really tired.

"Because you were having trouble breathing or not breathing at all." Bruce answered.

"Why *cough* am I *cough* having trouble *cough* breathing?" I asked through a fit of coughs.

"I don't know." Bruce said.

"You should really get some rest." Bruce said. He told me that he was going to get a cup of coffee. I sat there breathing heavily. My lungs hurted a lot. I don't remember anything. I felt very weak. I was also coughing violently. I don't why. Kahuna walked in.

"Hey Reef, how are feeling?" Kahuna asked. I started to cough again.

"I'm *cough* doing *cough* okay at the *cough* moment." I answered. I started to cough violently again. It hurted a lot. I was kinda wheezing a little. I pulled off the air mask thing. I was coughing even more. I couldn't stop. Kahuna tried to get me to stop, but it didn't work. Then I started to cough up blood a little.

"I need a doctor!" Kahuna shouted through the door. I couldn't breathe either. I was coughing up more blood. It hurted and scared me so much. I couldn't breathe but I can't put the mask on yet. I felt tears running down my face. I coughed up a lot of blood. All over my bed, the white sheets had blood stains all over them. I couldn't stop. I was very scared. My lungs felt like they're gonna burst. I was coughing a lot of blood. That is when a very scary thing happened. I suddenly threw up a lot of blood. That scared me. I didn't want to throw up more blood, but it managed to get out.

"Doctors!! Reef is throwing up blood!!" Kahuna said running out of my room. I was shaking really bad. I was scared, terrified, and cold. I felt weak. I was sitting on my bed, vomiting blood. This is an awesome day (with a touch of sarcasm). I tried to breathe but I couldn't. Every time I coughed, I threw up more blood. Then the doctors came in. I looked up.

"Let's get him to the bathroom." the doctor said. They helped me off the bed, but I collapsed once I touched the floor. They helped me to the bathroom. After violently throwing up blood in a toilet, I flushed and leaned against the wall. I slowly fell to the ground. I sat there for a few minutes. I stood up and walked to the mirror. I saw blood all over my face. Well, not all over my face but somewhat. I heard a knocking on my door.

"Who is it?" I asked.

"It is Dr. Smith, how are you feeling?" the doctor said through the door.

"I feel a little better, but I still need to be alone for a little bit." I answered.

"Ok, I'll come back later." he added. I heard footsteps walking away. I looked back at the mirror. I had to clean up but how? I turned on the sink. I saw the water and put my hand in the water flow. Then I looked at the clock. One two three four five six seven eight nine....and flop. I fell to the ground. The ground is cold. I crawled up to the sink. I was practically hanging on to the towel rack. It was hard to balance on a tail. The sink was still on. With one hand, I grabbed a cloth towel and put it under the water. I fell with a thud. I started to scrub my face with the towel. I saw the white fluffy towel become red. I grabbed a mirror under the sink and looked at my face. Most of the blood was gone. Thank goodness. Then I felt the door hit my tail. I turned invisible. I saw a man looking around. He accidently stepped on my tail. I waited for him to leave. Once he shrugged his shoulders, he left the bathroom and shut the door. I sighed and became visible. I dried myself. After the steam cleared up, I had my legs. I opened the door and walked back to my room. I sat in an empty chair. I decided to take a little nap. I felt someone shaking me.

"Huh...." I said while opening my eyes. I saw it was Kahuna shaking me.

"You were out for about nine hours." Kahuna told me. My eyes widen. Yep, I am OFFICIALLY awake.

"Nine hours?!" I asked him. He nodded. I sighed. The doctor walked in.

"Hello Reef. Is that your name?" He asked.

"Yes."

"You got a decent amount of sleep. It looked like you got at least one or two hours of sleep and that made your body weak. Also, are you aware that you have anorexia?" he asked. There goes my secret. Kahuna looked at me concerned.

"You have anorexia?" Kahuna asked. I nodded my head. I always had anorexia since I was like 13 or whatever age I was.

"How come you never told us? You didn't trust us enough?" Kahuna asked hurt. I felt tears forming in my eyes. I had to tell them.

"I couldn't bring m-myself to t-tell you." I said looking at the floor.

"But you can trust us." Kahuna said. I felt tears falling down my face.

"I-I didn't k-know how you would r-react! I thought you wouldn't understand or..or.."

"That we would leave you?" Kahuna said for me. I nodded. I started to cry. Wonderful. I hate my emotions. He hugged me. I cried on his shoulder.

"Reef, we wouldn't leave you." Kahuna told me.

"A-Aren't you mad at m-me?" I asked. He shook his head.

"Not mad, rather disappointed because you didn't tell us." he added. I heard people coming in. I looked up. I saw Blue, Riley, Cassie, and Bruce. I tried to put a smile but I couldn't.

"Also Reef, your lungs are having trouble circulating oxygen which is causing you not to breathe properly." the doctor told me. What. The. Heck. Does.That. Even. Mean? I raised my hand.

"Yes Reef," Doctor Smith said.

"What does that mean?" I asked.

"What does what mean?" he asked. I rolled my eyes.

"My lungs not functioning." I answered.

"Oh yes. Your lungs can't regulate oxygen normally. I never seen anything like this before." Doctor Smith said. Then he pulled out this thing with a HUGE needle on it.

"What are you gonna do to me?" I asked.

"Take blood samples." he said. That was it for me. I ran out the room. I heard people shouting after me. But I didn't care. I jumped into the water and swam all the way to Mako.
