Chapter 5: Sobbing Sorry
Reef's P.O.V.
I got my ring back. Also, I do have a really strong American accent. I was born near a reef bed near California. Blue was two years older than me. He was the first person I befriended and the only person. I sighed and sat down on the sand. I felt tears in my eyes. Great, on this journey, this is the most times that I have cried, wonderful. I rarely cry. This adventure brought the worst out of me. Then I saw who I had a fight with.
"Blue?" I asked. He nodded. Then we both burst out crying and hugged each other. I brought him down to the sand with me.
"I-I'm so sorry! I-I shouldn't s-said all those those means things to you!" Blue stuttered out.
"I'msorrythatIleftandcausedahugegapinourfriendshipandranofflikeasissywoulddoandleftyouguystherenotknowingwheretheheckwasIandabadoningyouandallthatothercrapthatIamtrulysorryfor!" I spit out really fast. I saw Blue laughing.
"What?" I asked.
"You always say your apologies really fast and not sounding english and long." Blue said while giggling.
"DO YOU ACCEPT MY CRAPPY APOLOGY OR NOT?!?!?!" I shouted. He laughed.
"I accept your awful apology." Blue said. I hugged him.
"YAY!!!!!!!" I shouted.
"But I am really sorry for what I put you threw." I said while trying to get sand of the back of my pants. Blue raised his eyebrow.
"Are you hitting your butt?" he asked.
"NO!! I AM TRYING TO GET SAND OFF THE BACK OF MY JEANS!!!!!" I said loudly. Then I saw Kahuna. Oh no.... Then he tackled me.
"Kahuna.......can't.......breathe.........lungs.......collapsing.......and......failing........air.......need.......sweet.....*gasp*.....sweet.......air.........*gasp*........dying....need...*gasp*...assistance....here." I said while not trying to pass out. I began breathing heavy again. And feeling slightly lightheaded.
"It......was.......really.....*wheeze*......nice.......*cough*.......to........*wheeze again*........see......see......*wheeze*.....see....." Then everything went black again.
Blue's P.O.V.
What.The.Heck.Just.Happened? I smacked Kahuna on the back of his head.
"Ow! What was that for?" Kahuna asked.
"Because you squished him." I replied.
"But I got off of him before the lungs collapsing part." Kahuna said. He was right. There might be something wrong with Reef. I bent down to check on Reef. I saw he wasn't breathing. Don't panic mind.
HOW CAN YOU EXPECT ME NOT TO PANIC WHEN YOUR BEST FRIEND IS DEAD?!?! Great here comes war in my head again. Anywho, mind, you need to calm down, if we want to save Reef, we can't do anything that will distract us. Okay?
Yeah okay. With that out of the way, I checked for a pulse. He had one, but it was abnormal.
"Kahuna!" I shouted. He bent down too.
"What's wrong?" Kahuna asked.
"Reef's not breathing but he has a pulse but it's not normal." I said. Then I heard Reef trying to breathe. It sounded awful. I needed to get Bruce and quick. I told Kahuna to get Cassie or anyone to help minus hospitals. He nodded and took off. I was certified in CPR, but that was in the pod, and I never did it on anyone. I heard Reef attempting to breathe again. I sat there not knowing what to do. I was going to be at Reef's side no matter what.
Kahuna's P.O.V.
I was running at top speed. I had to find Bruce. I saw him at the juice bar talking to Cassie.
"BRUCE!!!! CASSIE!!!!" I shouted. I saw Riley was with them.
"What's wrong Kahuna?" Riley asked. I was panting.
"Reef.....at.....the.....beach. With.....Blue......Reef........collapsed." I managed to get out. Their eyes widen. Then they sprinted out the juice bar. I followed after them. Man, those people can run fast.
Blue's P.O.V.
I sat there looking at Reef. He still hasn't woken up. I sighed. I was scared that my only friend that I had known since forever might die. Then I saw Cassie, Bruce, Riley, and Kahuna running up to me.
"Is Reef okay?" Bruce asked. I shook my head.
"He just collapsed. He has been doing that lately a lot." I answered. I saw Bruce check for a pulse.
"He has a pulse, but it isn't normal." Bruce said.
"Do you think we need to take him to the hospital?" Cassie asked us.
"I don't know." Bruce said. I saw Reef wasn't breathing still.
"Bruce, Reef isn't breathing." I said to him.
"Then we might have to take him to the hospital." Bruce said. My eyes widen.
"Really?! Is it that bad?" I asked. He nodded.
"He might need to be hooked up to an air machine so it can help him breathe." Bruce added. I nodded. Kahuna helped Bruce pick up Reef. I noticed that he wasn't that much of a problem.
"Reef hasn't eaten lately." Riley told me. I looked at him.
"How can you tell?" I asked.
"You can see how easily Kahuna had picked him up. And he looks too thin." Riley added. I sighed. I wished none of this ever happened. I pulled my knees to my chest and began to cry. I'm so sorry Reef that we ever had that stupid argument, I hope he can pull through though. He was still my only friend when we were in the pod. I just want this nightmare to end.
