1 month later

Work.
Time for work.

You now had 10 hours of hard work ahead of you - not to mention it was the night shift. You worked in a supermarket, it was closed to customers after midnight but you'd be working well into the early hours of the morning stacking the shelves. Your phone buzzed in your black work trousers. It was Jae, you'd exchanged numbers at the end of his busking session last month.

Jae

Hey there gorgeous - how's the night shift going?

You laughed quietly, he'd even put your name in his phone as 'gorgeous'. It felt like you'd known him for such a long time - when it had only been a month. You quickly typed back a reply before your manager came into your isle and spotted you texting.

It's going exactly how you'd imagine.

You sent the reply and stuffed the phone back in your pocket. You continued to stack the shelves as you did most nights, the task was boring and tedious but you got it done nonetheless. Your phone buzzed again about an hour later.

Jae

Positively riveting?

You cracked a small smile and wrote back.

It's clearly the most fun thing I've ever done

You heard the click clack of Mr Jisoo's - your manager - shoes on the hard flooring of the market - quickly, you shoved the phone back into your pocket.

"Miss (Y/LN), I hope you're working hard," he stopped next to you, looking at the large amount empty crates and cardboard boxes next to you.

"I sure am, I've nearly finished the frozen aisle."

He looked at the boxes and smiled broadly, his hand dropped to your shoulder and he squeezed lightly. "Listen, I know you've been working extra hard lately - what with your other two jobs and University. If you'd like, you can finish early when you've finished this aisle?"

"I'd like to sir, but I really need the money."

"Don't worry about that, I'll pay you for the full shift - just go home and get some rest. You look exhausted."

"T-that's really kind of you! Thank you so much." You felt somewhat awed at the fact that he had given this opportunity to you, usually he was a pretty strict guy when it came to working hours.

"Really, don't mention it. Finish this aisle and clock out - I'll see you Saturday morning." He smiled and carried on walking.

With a grin you pulled your phone back out.

Jae

I am imagine!

Whoops
Lol

You laughed at him and typed back.

Well, as interesting as it was - my boss has taken pity on me and is letting me go early. What a good man

You finished unpacking the last of the boxes with frozen foods in them and started to walk back to the staff only section of the store. Your phone began to buzz continuously. Jae was calling you.

"Hello?" You answered, wedging your phone between your ear and shoulders while you put away your things.

"Hey gurllllll," Jae drawled out in a faux American accent, " so you're free? Wanna stop by mine and do some more of that translating?"
