" Can you teleport us somewhere?"
Bexley and Erik stared up at the rugged cliffs, the sun sat halfway down the sky, preparing to set.
" I'm too weak." She replied.
The residue of the splitting headache lingered in her temples, it was amazing she was able to stand.
The two walked toward Lookout drive, their feet slipping in the sand.
" I'm starved." Erik chuckled and patted his stomach,
" Me too."
Along the coastline the only sounds were gulls cawing and waves crashing. At least she hadn't taken them to far up the beach, searching in the treeline she saw the Blue Mountain station; an overpriced beach restaurant.
Bexley patted her pockets to no avail, her wallet must have fallen out somewhere.
" Do you have your wallet?" She asked Erik.
His eyebrows furrowed and he patted down his pockets before pulling out the leather booklet.
He peered inside,
" Yeah I have a couple bucks, why?"
Bexley pointed up at the restaurant and Erik's face brightened. He took her hand and speed walked across the sand. Bexley giggled, her legs wobbling as she picked up the pace. Her heavy tongue felt like sandpaper in her mouth, she couldn't wait to get a drink. A curved, dirt road spilled on to the shore of the beach. Bexley climbed up the rocks, Erik hauled her on to the road. They began to hike, breathing heavy and fast. She peered across the water now, her gaze falling on the silhouette of Blue mountain. The twinkling ice caps bobbed toward the shore of the beach, the wave spilled on to the sand. She bit her lip, the tide looked higher than it had been five minutes ago. The water spilled up to the volleyball net, taking the pink ball into the lake.
" Is it just me, or did the tide get higher?" She asked Erik.
He stopped for a second, looking through the trees. His eyes widened as he saw the darkened sand,
" C'mon, we should get going."
He pulled her hand and they continued up the hill. Their wet shoes left dark footprints in the dirt, the orange dust coated their sneakers and legs. Â The trees around them grew thicker and thicker, they could no longer see the beach to their right. To the left, the rest of the mountain loomed over them. An uncomfortable feeling filled Bexley as they breeze attacked them, it whistled hauntingly through the trees. A path usually filled with birds and squirrels lay vacated. Bexley's lungs stinged, her core tightened as the hill inclined once more.
" There it is!" Erik pointed at the brown building, they could see one wall  over the hill.
Bexley patted down the back of her hair, feeling the rat's nest on her head. She groaned and wiped the fine sand off of her face. Erik put his shirt back on, wincing as he lifted his arms over his head,
" Whew, I'm pretty ripe."
Bexley laughed again, Â pulling down her shirt and brushing off her pant legs. The two stood outside the log cabin, the restaurant sign glowed a rustic glow with chipped blue lettering. Sure enough, the faded " Open" sign hung off the door knob.
Erik reached his hand out and turned the knob,
" Hello?" He called through the crack in the door.
A dark figure sat slumped over the counter, Bexley's blood ran cold. The breeze whistled through the open door then the figure bolted upward.
" Jesus H Christ, close the door will ya?"
