It's been a week since I started working at the bakery. I've bonded a lot with Ashton lately, and I think I do like him now. We haven't kissed since that one time, but part of me has wanted to since then. My brother and his girlfriend are still planning for the baby, and lately Chris has been worried about her getting sick but I think everything will turn out okay, and possibly Chris has the disease of paranoia, but either way everything will turn out good.
It was my first day off, and my first day with my own hard earned money. I decided to spend it with Penny and Laura, and we decided to walk around, buy some things, and of course the best thing to do wiht a girl's time.
Boys.
That's right, boys.
Cute boys, shy boys, tall boys, and most importantly, HOT boys.
Wearing my favorite pale blue dress, I slipped on a pair of sandals that would most likely get ruined, pulled on my jacket, grabbed my purse, and started on the adventure of today.
---------
"Oh, look at that one over there," Penny said while pointing to a tall boy with black hair. "He looks so mysterious," she said, making us giggle some more. "Hey, hey, how about that one," Laura said hole taking a sip of her milkshake. The three of us glanced at a shorter blonde. "Perfect height for you Laura," I said while giggling myself. Penny joined in on my laughter, making Laura roll her eyes.
"You know Cristina, I think you like that guy we met at the party, remember," Penny acknowledged. I nodded, feeling my face start to redden, and hearing my friends giggle at me.
"I actually work with him at my new job," I said to them. They nodded, thinking for a moment. "Do you pay by the hour," Laura said with a wink, making us all burst out laughing. "No! I work with him not FOR him!" We continue to laugh till we ran out of breath, and went back to boy hunting, till we were interrupted.
"Hey Cristina!" I hear across the other side of the cafe. I groaned, putting my head on the table while John walked up to all three of us. He pulled up a chair and sat next to me, automatically putting his arm around me. "How's my favorite girl doing today," He asked while looking at his friends, who somewhat flirting with my friends and I. Penny and Laura didn't mind the good fun, but I had enough of John at that point.
"John, just leave me alone," I said to him impatiently while moving away. His friends laughed and he got up. "Alright, I get it," He said while taking a step back. "Some girls are cranky on their periods."
And that was the final straw for me.
I lunged at John, slapping his pale face hard. My hand's imprint was bright red on his cheek, and before I could slap him again, Laura and Penny pulled me back.
"Lets just go," Penny said while Laura quickly paid and they dragged me out. I squirmed, trying to go back to possibly break Johns neck, but Laura and Penny were stronger than I thought.
"Cristina, calm down," they said to me as I tried to gain my normal breathing. "It was uncalled for, but lets just forget about it," Laura said wisely. I nodded, rubbing my hand from the contact. We decided that we did enough gawking of boys, and we departed into different directions, going home to rest an relax.
When I went inside my home, I noticed a note on the counter. I picked it up and read it.
Not here. Make dinner for me though. -Chris
I grinned at the note, and pulled out some pasta for macaroni and cheese. Now, don't get me wrong, I love cooking. I was just very tired from today and didn't feel like putting effort into a meal for my absent brother. I put everything together and threw it in the oven, before laying down on the couch.
I heard a knock on the door, making me awake from my daze. I opened the door, to see George, clearly wet from the downpour.
"May I come in," he asked, shivering from the cold. I nodded, opening the door wider. When he stepped in, I shut the door and took his jacket, shaking water out of it before hanging it up.
"You have a very nice place," he said while sitting down on the couch I was on only moments ago. "Thank you," I said while sitting next to him. "So..." I said awkwardly. "Why are you here?" He laughed at my tone of voice, making my face turn somewhat red.
"I just came over, we are friends, right," he asked. "Um, yeah, I guess," I responded. He chuckled again, making me smile somewhat. "Actually I'm here to talk about something... Or someone." I looked at him in curiousity, waiting for him to continue. "It's actually about John." I groaned, my care in the conversation completely gone. "I heard about you slapping him, and well, I think you should apologize." "Me? Apologize? No! Never! He knew he was over stepping his boundary." George sighed. "John always oversteps his boundary." "Yeah, well, he shouldn't with me," I snapped. George sighed again, lost for words.
"Alight, well if there's a problem where John confronts you, you might want to carry something to protect you," George surrendered. I rolled my eyes, just wanting George to give up. "Is there anything else," I asked. George pursed his lips, clearly nervous.
"Um, I'm supposed to ask you something too," he said. I smiled at his nervousness. "George, don't be nervous," I said. "Yeah but this is important," he said. I raised an eyebrow curiously.
"George, what's this about, spit it out," I said impatiently. George sighed, looking around the room, clearly trying to find a way out of this situation. He turned back to me, before taking a deep breath and speaking.
"Do you like Paul?"
