"HEY LAZY PANTS GET UP!"

I woke up to my brothers obnoxious screaming, feeling a headache enter my head as I pulled myself out of the covers. I felt that today would not be my day, but I knew that today was the day, the day where would start college. Thus, I had to make him a lucky breakfast and pick out a lucky tie for him. I trailed down the stairs, seeing my brother, excited for his first day. I went to the kitchen and started making pancakes- his favorite breakfast. I grabbed the batter, a pan, and everything he likes on pancakes- Syrup, butter, whipped cream, strawberries, rainbow sprinkles, chocolate syrup, chocolate and peanut butter chips, bananas, and cherries for the top. After preparing five pancakes for him, he used everything on his pancakes, making the pancakes vanish in less than three minutes. I myself had three pancakes, but I took longer to eat them.

Afterwards, he sprinted upstairs, gesturing me to follow him. I followed him and walked into his room, seeing six ties on his bed.

"Wear the blue one," I said while holding it up. "Okay!" he said enthusiastically while tying the tie around him.

"You're going to have a great day," I said while fixing his tie for him. He smiled and thanked me, pulling me into a bone crushing hug before running down the stairs, and outside with everything he needed. I watched him walk down the street, acting as excited as a little boy on his first day of school. I yawned, clombing upstairs, happy that I could back to bed.

I crawled inside my warm bed, letting my body relax and my thoughts clear out of my mind.

Thump

CRASH

I opened my eyes wide while standing up straight, looking around. Everything looked normal to me. I walked down the stairs, then saw a broken window, with a rock on the ground, with a note attached to it.

Do you want to hang out?

I looked at the note, staring at the broken glass that was originally my window. I looked outside, and saw someone at the bottom, waving their arms at me.

"Hey," Paul screamed up at me. "Do you want to hang out?" I stared at him, thinking about it.

Eh, what the heck.

"Just give me five minutes," I shouted at him, while running back upstairs, and throwing on a long sleeve shirt with a plain black skirt. I pulled on a pair of flats, grabbed my purse, and ran down the stairs, flying out of the house at an incredible speed. I saw Paul outside, waiting patiently.

"Hiya," I said while shutting the door behind me. I looked at him, waiting for some words to come out of his mouth. Instead he walked up to me, completely silent. He stood in front of me, his face being only a few inches in front of mine. I looked up at him, completely confused. Suddenly Paul pulled me into a hug that made me stop breathing. But besides being choking, it was also comforting. It made me feel loved, not alone, and just happy. When he pulled away, he smiled.

"So, where should we go?"

-----

Paul and I decided to go get ice cream, because hey, who doesn't like ice cream? WE stopped in a small little ice cream shop, and both of us ordered hut fudge sundaes. I went to grab my wallet, but then Paul stopped me.

"Let me pay," he said to me. I sgihed, not really feeling the mood for an arguement involving money and ice cream. He handed the ice cream man the little the ice cream sundaes actually were, and handed me mine as we walked out of the ice cream shop, eating our hot fudge sundaes before it melted. We walked together to the park, where he had hung out together for the first time. I sat down on the swing that he pushed me on, while he sat next to me. We ate our sundaes in silence, both of us being okay with the quietness.

I really didn't know what to say though. It was so silence, but why break something that was truly one of the most comforting things you've heard in a long time.

"so," he started, breaking the little comfort I had. "What have you been up to?" I shrugged, not really have much to say.

"Not a whole lot," I said while twisting my foot in the ground. "I've just been talking to my new friends and planning stuff." "Oh, like what," he asked me. I continued to twist my foot in the ground, not really paying attention.

"Um, just stuff to do, with my friends, and my boyfriend," I mumbled the last part. I felt his eyes on the side of my face. I continued to dig my foot into the ground, waiting for him to say something, but obviously he kept the silence. So I sighed, and started my own sentence.

"What about you," I asked him. I waited a moment, then looked up from the ground. I blinked a few times, trying to see if I was imagining things, but for some reason, he was gone. I felt the guilt take over my mind, and hoped it would go away soon.

Too bad things don't work that way for me.
