Chapter 13 (Kye)

After everything that happened at the mall, I took Genevieve back to our place. A creature of darkness, a roamer, got through the barrier around the school. They weren't kidding when they said the darkness was here and it attacked a little girl. She had looked to only be about ten years old. I have a feeling that there will be another attack and soon. I can feel the darkness getting stronger, the barrier around the school is crumbling and I have a feeling the darkness got in via one of the people here. Meaning I have to protect my mate and her sister at all cost.

I'll need to figure out who the strongest hybrids in the realm are, that aren't on the side of evil. Three others are still out there according to Liam. He is strong, I sensed it at his birth merely five years before Genevieve's and Taylor's birth. He's strong, not as strong as me, but strong nonetheless. Taylor and Genevieve are the strongest in all of existence. So, who else do I know that hold's a lot of power. Last I heard, Liam has a sister and since she has royal blood running threw her veins she might have a lot of power, but she's half his age, way to young to be one from this supposed other part of the prophecy. Then there's Raven Castle, she's the black sheep of the family, but strong nonetheless. She's even stronger than Liam, so she's most definitely one. She's half faerie and half fire hawk and an illegitimate child so most don't even know she is very much a royal. She was born a few months before Liam's father, Roden found his mate, Lilac. Roden is a faerie royal, Genevieve's father's brother. He never got the witch gene that his brother inherited, which is odd since they both had the same parents, or so we've all been told. 

Anyways, Raven Castle is extremely powerful, almost as strong as me and has power over fire, Liam is a water witch and of course faerie, hence why his wings are pure sparkling water. I have power over pure magic with my witch abilities. If what I heard is correct, Liam's little sister, Tatiana was a storm caster, which is a witch with immense power over wind and water not to mention it's enhanced due to her faerie abilities. Sounds like if I'm correct each and everyone of us five has a connection to Taylor and Genevieve. That's when I remember, they have a brother, Jay. He's older and extremely strong, but he was the Queen's son before she married the King and therefore can't take over the thrown, but instead leads a pack of wolves, a strong pack at that. He's half faerie and half wolf and due to his faerie side he actually has the ability to control the earth, he's and earth faerie which is rare and powerful. He might very well be the fifth in this so called prophecy.

"Kye? What are you thinking about?" I look up to see Genevieve standing in the doorway of my room.

"Um, it's nothing? What are you doing up?" I ask, I thought she had fallen asleep by now. I know when she was in the mortal realm she always fell asleep by eight, and it's already nine."

"I couldn't sleep," I smile a little at that.

"Come here then,"She slowly starts to walk towards me, she seems a little nervous. 

When she's standing in front of me I grab her hand and gently pull until she's sitting on my lap, at first she tenses up, but then I start to smooth her hair down in the back gently, until she relaxes and lays her head on my chest. Then finally she falls asleep. 

Not wanting to wake her I gently place her down on my bed and cover her up. I then grab a blanket and pillow and head over to the couch in my room and fall asleep to the sound of my mate's soft snores.
