Chapter One (Part Two) ****
I nestled under my sleeping bag looking around cautiously. I had found a rocky area that would keep me and my horses hidden to anyone passing if I was quiet enough. The rocks were towering in places, classified as boulders, but small and moss covered in others. I was so tense I was unable to sleep. My stomach growled and I rubbed it. It wouldn't stop complaining about the lack of food. Marcus stood almost as still as the rocks sensing my nervousness. Lady nibbled on grass growing around the edges of the rocks. The German Shepperd Bernie was nowhere to be found and I was begining to worry about him. I felt more safe with his sharp teeth near by.
My mind began to wonder and finally I began to doze off.
Something snapped to the right of me and I jerked awake, sitting up quickly. I looked around. The horses stood nervously their ears twitching back and forth listening closely. I grabbed for my knife and held it tightly. The snapping was getting closer and I tip toed behind Marcus for security. The sounds from afar sounded gut renchingly familiar. Snarls began echoing off the rocks and I held my breath as it came closer. Where the rocks seperated and the woods began red eyes were glowing. In the center was a black dot of a pupil. My hands shook and the horses snorted while curling their necks, their muscles rippling under thick hide. They were frozen in place staring into the red eyes of death. I peaked under Marcus' neck as it moved forward into the red light the Blood Moon gave off. There stood what I could only call a monster, one I had saw times before.
Its body was shapped of a human and its features were anything but. Its skin was gray, checks sunk in. Its lips were red with blood and its teeth were sharper than needles penetrating its stained lips. Claws were growing from its fingers and it crawled on feet and hands. Its skull was bald and shiny with no hair to speak of. It couldnt see me, only the horses and it licked its lips in anticipation. It lunged forward and Marcus jumped back rearing onto his back legs making a strangled sound. Lady jumped the rocks and disappeared into the engulfing darkness. I was revilled to the monster as Marcus backed away. Its eyes zoomed in on me and it screeched out a ear piercing sound tempting me to cover my ears. Its split tongue slithered out and flicked, tasting the air, tasting my fear.
This was no ordinary demon. It was a Death Eater. Demons often kept them around using them for a form of torture for their slaves. They were almost pets in a strange way. They roamed the hallways of hell almost out numbering the Dark Ones. Though they out numbered them they were at the bottom of the food chain. They were terrified of the Demons, weakened by there presences, but a deadly predator to humans.
I stepped forward squaring my shoulders ready for a fight. It turned its head curiously and leaped forward. I cringed but didn't move. I had to fight. Before the monster could come down on top of me something hit it from the side. Landing behind a near by rock. Crunching followed, then silence. I stepped forward slowly.......
