Gyfted

Part 3 - Alliya

*Alliya's POV*
As we walk down the hallway, the weird doctor dude tells me what's going on.
"So you will be living here for a while" he says "We don't yet know--"
" Sorry but can you please tell me what time it is?" I interrupt. He frowns.
"All right it's..." He checks his watch. "Five o'clock". Okay. The last time I asked him was just after I woke up. It had been 2:00 then. I whirl around.
"You kept me in there for three hours?" I ask. He looks chagrined.
"Well we needed to see if all your gyfts had manifested." He tells me. This time I frown. We keep walking this time in silence. Soon, we come to a large metal door. The doctor swipes a card and the whole thing opens with a groan. Through the doorway is a large open-roofed courtyard, complete with cherry blossom trees and a lawn.
"Woah." I whisper. The walls, labelled A-D, are lined with units, each wall containing twelve rooms. There is one stairway per wall, with a walkway that wraps around each level. This place looks like a giant hotel.
"I think it's time for you to meet Emmi. She's the only other gyfted awake at the moment." The doctor's voice pulls me out of my trance. He leads me over to wall D.
"Come on." The stairs are steep but it takes almost no time at all to walk up to level two. The doctor knocks on a door with an electronic sign displaying

D9 - Emmi

A girl with flaming red hair and bright green eyes pokes her head out. She looks at me and I see her staring at the silver stud in my nose.
"Yes?" She asks warily.
"I'm here to introduce you to another gyfted" the doctor says to her. "She woke up a few hours after you."
The girl steps out onto the walkway in front of us and closes her door. She looks me over and smiles slightly.
<hello> says a voice. I twirl around trying to see who it was but there is no one else here. I look back at the girl. Her mouth didn't move, but the voice sounded suspiciously like hers. Then I understand. She's like me. So I grin at her.
<hey> I say back. Now it's her turn to be shocked. I stick out my hand.
" My name's Alliya" I tell her and reach out my hand for her to shake.
"Emmi" she says and shakes it. I can already feel that we are going to be friends. The doctor hands me a keycard.
"Pick any room." he says "Dinner is at 6 and I will come and collect you." I choose the room next to Emmi's and the sign on the front changes to

D8 - Alliya

"So you're a telepath too?" She asks me. "What are your other gyfts?"
"Well I have telepathy, persuasion and the ability to fly. Well, levitate. And apparently I won't always be able to control it." I answer.
"Persuasion... what's that?"
"Well I can like whisper in people's minds and affect their thoughts or desicions." I reply. "Hey, wanna practice before dinner?"'
"Sounds good" she grins.
