"Mate, that weird girl is staring at you again."
"Christ Graham, don't start." I slam my locker shut.
He starts to laugh and poke my shoulder, "see hard work does pay off, you've already got yourself a fan." I roll my eyes and turn to face him. I felt slightly obliged to slap him round the head, but regardless I kept my hands tucked in my jean pockets.
"You look a bit feisty." He teases. I grunt.
"Yeah because you won't leave me alone about her. I get it she's looking at me but you don't have to mention it every second of the day!"
"Well you didn't believe me when I said she's basically in love with you." He winks, "maybe I should set you two up." I flick him over the head. He bows his head whispering a short "ow" and holds his hand over the top. From one side of the corridor I could hear the young short haired girl giggle. I turn to look at her, her eyes widen as she realises before she blushes and shoves her face in a book.
I sigh, "come on I kind of want to pass so if you don't mind can we please leave?" I say with sass. Graham shuts his locker raising his eyebrows at the girl before turning and leading us to class.
God.

Oh god, oh god! He just looked at me! Oh come on Connie keep your emotions together. You're so young, you can't crush on someone older than you. Just keep your head in your book and pretend your reading.
I look at my book "work out the following equation".
This looks dumb if I'm pretending to read a maths book. Ok, well maybe I should just go talk to him? Yeah, make small talk ask him about his music. No, I can't do that, he's probably embarrassed from me, or embarrassed for me. Oh god!
I squeal a little into my book, giving up on my plan. I look up.
"Huh?" Looking around I notice Damon and his friend had disappeared. The corridor had almost completely cleared and I was just stood there with a dumb maths book in my face.
I look down at my watch. Crap! I scramble into reality and throw my book into my locker behind me, locking it after. I shove my bag over my shoulder and practically run to my classroom, hearing a couple older girls giggle as I run about. My last lesson was science so I wasn't exactly too thrilled, but it would get my mind off of things for a while.
-
My brain and soul had completely drained after than lesson. Never again do I want to go to a chemistry lesson late to only be constantly picked on the whole time. It's tiring!
I stroll out of the school building lugging my bag behind me, watching girls and boys talk excitedly to one another. I notice Damon by the school entrance smoking and talking to a couple of his friends. He looked happy. I wish that was me, but I'm just the weird girl, I don't get friends like those. I get snotty, spotty, questionable friends who I'm told to sit with during lunch. No way on earth is Damon ever going to think I'm the cool girl. I don't even believe I am.
I walk up towards the bus stop waiting patiently in line for the next bus to arrive. At the same time I watch Damon talk and smoke. When the bus pulls in I divert my vision away and to the bus. I walk on, pay and then walk upstairs to find a place to sit, the bus was normally full after school so I was used to having to sit next to a stranger.
This time I luckily found a seat by myself so it was nice to finally have some space. I mean that was until 5 seconds later I see two boys climb up the stairs, one of course had to be Damon. This wouldn't be my tragic life if he wasn't in the picture.
They walk down the bus as the driver begins to move us all, they both notice a seat next to me and one behind me. Damon's friend run to the one behind me while Damon clumsily sits next to me, sitting partially on my cardigan. I pull it a little from him. "Sorry." He quickly says. I breathe out heavily and turn to face out the window.
That was the first word he said to me. Oh my gosh.
I lead my elbow in the ridge on the window and watch outside as I would for the majority of my bus journey. I sat listening to the mumbles of peoples conversations, like I was in my own world.
I snap out of it as I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around, noticing Damon glaring at his friend and is friend looking at me.
"Sorry do you want me to move?" I ask politely. He chuckles.
"No, just a quick question?" I furrow my eyebrows at him. "Do you like Damon?" He smiles gladly at me as I feel my cheeks heat up. I panic for a short second.
"W-who?" I nervously laugh trying to cover my lie. The boy raises his eyebrows at me and directs me where to look. Damon looks at me and smiles widely.
"That would be me." He says through gritted teeth shaking my hand. I limply place my hand back down on my lap. He turns back around. "Graham, that's enough."
"Oh no, sorry what's you're name sweetie?" He asks me. I smile.
"C-Connie. My names Connie." He nods at me and then looks at Damon who's getting up to press the stop button.
"Graham, this is our stop."
"Well Connie, I just wanted to let you know that Damon has taken note of you before-"
"Graham!" The bus begins to pull into the stop and slow down. 'Graham' stands up as Damon walks down the bus towards the stairs. He gestures him to walk down.
"But he wanted me to let you know that he likes you too!" He throws his hands in the air as I feel a warm blush come over my cheeks.
"Graham!" The bus stops and Graham runs down the bus.
"See you later!" He waves awkwardly at me as they both run down the stairs.
"You fucking knob head, firstly no I don't and secondly you can't just say stuff-" Damon's angry voice trails off down the stairs and off the bus as I'm left there trying to cool down my face. I place my face in my hands trying to process what had just happened. I look around me to see if anyone around me had seen what just happened and a couple of people were laughing around my area.
Oh god.
